Meas Soksophea (Khmer: មាស សុខសោភា) (born January 29, 1984) She is a Cambodian pop singer who appeared in 2004 for the production - Raksmey Stung Sangke. Introduced her during 2005 through the song (101 Reasons) released by Chenla Brother Production, Sok Sophea overcame her song. International video (Video evolution) called (Vevo) in 2013.

Early life

Meas Soksophea was born on January 29, 1984 in Kampong Speu province to a father named Meas Sarim, a former director of the Kampong Speu Provincial Department of Industry, and a mother and Sok Vilun, a former employee of the Department of Industry. Meas Soksophea has three siblings and she is the second child in the family. The eldest son in the family, Meas Sokratanak, is also a songwriter. He is the general manager of Town Production and the youngest son, Meas Sok Vannak, is a military officer. In 1990, Meas Soksophea's family decided to move from Kampong Speu province to live in Kandal province's Kien Svay district for a while. When her father suddenly died, the burden of providing for the family fell on his children. Meas Soksophea and her brother decided to sing at various weddings, usually paid with a small salary, until 2000 when Cambodia experienced the biggest flood in the country. The flood severely affected the Cambodian economy, with a loss of approximately $161 million and affected about 750,000 people.[1] Due to the severe financial crisis, Sok Sophea decided to drop out of high school in the 10th grade, and moved for the second time, leaving Kandal province to Phnom Penh in 2002, and continued to sing in various restaurants and entertainment centers in Phnom Penh until she was offered to join Reaksmey Stung Sangke Productions in 2004.[2]

Music career

Popularity (2005-2009)

During 2005, Sok Sophea left Production - Reaksmey Stung Sangke to join Chenla Brother Production - She released a number of songs, including (101 Reasons) which she supported. And many popular in Cambodia, which used to be included in the International Music Television called MTV.[3] Until 2007, Chenla-Brother Production announced the closure of its production, so Sok Sophea joined U2 Entertainment for a short time, she released some songs, but did not seem to have the support due to production U2 also announced the closure of the bankruptcy, so she joined M-Production in 2008. Released on the first album, "Excuse" has become the most-watched hits album in Cambodia, becoming the Hots Song on the TV music show at the top of the TV channel. Khmer Traditional Pop Music (2009)

In 2009, Sok Sophea left Production-M to join Production-Sunday. Also a kind of song for Khmer New Year season, The song "Come Dance on New Year" released by Production - Sunday Album CD Vol.104 released in early 2010 and is also a popular song for Khmer traditional music that is very popular to listen to. Much during that time, it was also her last album in the production - Sunday. Seeing that Sok Sophea himself did not seem to be interested in the audience and did not have many fans, Sok Sophea left Production-Sunday to join (Town Production) in mid-2010.[5]

In 2012-2013, it was a success for Sok Sophea to win the Female Singer Artist of the Year award from Sabay Company. With many artists participating at the Koh Pich Theater on the night of August 15, 2013.[7] After winning the Anachakdara Awards, Soksophea put her song into the international music video (Video evolution), also known as (Vevo), an American multinational video hosting service known as Video Level. Best Music Video for YouTube Music submission of Sok Sophea songs through Khmer Tree Music Group to turn music videos into international music videos.[8]

During 2014, Huawei a Chinese multinational technology corporation headquartered in Shenzhen, China, officially selected Meas Sok Sophea as its Goodwill Brand Ambassador of the smartphone company (Huawei Cambodia). Mr. Carry Yang, CEO of (Huawei) in Cambodia, said that he was very happy to partner in this work, he confirmed that the selection of singer Meas Soksophea as a representative of this promotion. Because he believes that Miss Meas Soksophea, who is a famous singer in Cambodia, is suitable for a world-famous product like this Brand Huawei.[9]

During 2015, Meas Soksophea and Korean male singer Kim Hyung-jun, known as a well-known Korean group, were members of a South Korean group.(SS501) Received the Goodwill Ambassador of the Korean humanitarian organization W-Foundation / Cambodia on Tuesday, June 30, 2015 through a project called HIP, which focuses on providing health care and education programs to Cambodian workers working in Korean garment factories in the country Cambodia.[10]

Environmental protection (2014-2016)

During 2014, Sok Sophea participated in forest protection with community members in the Oral area in Kampong Speu province by arranging for tree reforestation.
