I cannot find a single source about who this Olivia person is, and she definitely was not onstage at their most recent tour. The only thing that comes up is a Reddit post from this past April also asking who she is (to which no one on r/falloutboy had an answer). Remove Olivia Ford as a current touring musician. There is no source provided, and this does not seem to be reliable information. [[Special:Contributions/98.183.209.247|98.183.209.247]] ([[User talk:98.183.209.247|talk]]) 16:46, 13 August 2023 (UTC)

"Weever"

"From the A co-headlining 2020 tour with Green Day and **Weever** titled the Hella Mega Tour was announced in September 2019."

Should be Weezer — Preceding unsigned comment added by Earl Bellinger (talkcontribs) 05:05, 26 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

“Background information: Past members”

“Past members: Joe Trohman”

This is misleading, given that Fall Out Boy and Joe Trohman have publicly stated (as referenced in footnotes 180, 181 and 182 of the article’s section “2023–present: So Much (For) Stardust” and footnote 6 in the Wikipedia article “So Much (for) Stardust”) that Trohman is taking a break from the band, not that he has left the band or ceased to be a current member.

Trohman should still be listed under “Current members” given that he has not publicly stated that he has left the band, merely that he is taking a break. SoMuchForStardust (talk) 11:05, 19 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I didn't personally make the edit...but I get it. Usually if you're "taking a break" from a band, you're not really considered a "current member". Doubly so when you just released a single and announced a near future album release. Sergecross73 msg me 11:50, 19 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Should this be treated like how Reginald Arvizu of Korn is on hiatus from the band but is still considered a current member? We should reach a consensus if there are going to be edit wars. Wouldn't putting Joe in the past members be misleading if it is just a temporary break because he said he would be coming back to the band? Bowling is life (talk) 17:12, 19 January 2023 (UTC)@Sergecross73: @Lives Lineups: @SoMuchForStardust:[reply]
To me, it doesn't feel very "current" of a member if you're not participating in the in the promotion and touring of a brand new album. He's adamant he's not quitting the band, but he also states he will return someday. To me, you don't "return" to something you're currently part of. Anyways, I don't care that much, nor do I know what the precedent is for this sort of thing, so if the consensus is against me, so be it. But it isn't something I'll be willing to maintain or upkeep because it's not intuitive in the least. It'll be a maintenance nightmare. Sergecross73 msg me 17:22, 19 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I can see that perspective, but I would still argue that it’s misleading to label a member on pause as a past member — that member hasn’t actually left the band and become a past member in the strictest sense of those words. Trohman is, per his statement that is cited on this page, taking a break from all work but is not unemployed as a result of that — he’s essentially on sick leave from positions that are still his. If he worked in an office he’d still have the position and not be a past employee because he wouldn’t have left the company, he’d just be a current employee on leave.

Also, Trohman played on and contributed heavily to the single and upcoming album, as referenced in his book and other interviews he has given recently as well as his statement about taking a break — the statement is cited in the footnotes of the “So Much (For) Stardust” section of Fall Out Boy’s article and the Wikipedia article on the album. So his involvement with the band continues through that and is by definition “current” in my opinion. The band members continue to reference him in music videos such as their “Love from the Other Side” video released alongside the song, in which he has been “turned into a raccoon” by a wizard and a stand-in playing Trohman’s signature guitar in a raccoon costume features throughout the video. None of this to me speaks of a member whose involvement with the band has ceased, making them a “Past” member.

Additionally, as far as I’m aware (unless someone can see otherwise in the edit history), the article wasn’t altered to list Pete Wentz under “Past members” when he took an extended break from the band for the duration of a UK tour for “From Under the Cork Tree”, their second label-produced and released album. This break is widely documented again in interviews that the band have given, and this information is readily available online.

With that in mind, the precedent for listing past members on Fall Out Boy’s page would seem to dictate that, if a member has not said that they are leaving the band and if they declare plans to continue their association with the band and to return to actively working with them after a break, they haven’t been placed under “Past members”. Whether there should be a “Members on hiatus” section is another matter, but declaring Trohman as a “Past member” is misleading for the above reasons. SoMuchForStardust (talk) 17:13, 19 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, I couldn’t view the reply about Reginald Arvizu of Korn until now! I agree with that reasoning. SoMuchForStardust (talk) 17:15, 19 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

It's worth noting that Joe did appear in promotional photos during the initial announcement of the single, contrary to what is said above. I believe it to be misleading to list him as a past member, I've never seen a "hiatus" from performing with a band listed as a member leaving the band. Listing him as a past member is only going to cause misinterpretations of the situation at a glance for no benefit. Bannanawaffles (talk) 00:52, 20 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Joe Trohman is not a former member. Just because he’s taking a temporary hiatus from the band doesn’t mean he’s not a member of the band anymore. 2601:40D:4280:EFD0:871:5C69:C414:DF98 (talk) 18:56, 19 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Extended-confirmed-protected edit request on 13 August 2023

Hello! My issue is with the section: "Current touring musicians

Olivia Ford – keyboards, percussion, backing vocals (2023–present)"

I cannot find a single source about who this Olivia person is, and she definitely was not onstage at their most recent tour. The only thing that comes up is a Reddit post from this past April also asking who she is (to which no one on r/falloutboy had an answer). Constellationz (talk) 13:38, 13 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
