Princess Peach: Showtime![a][1] is an upcoming video game to be published by Nintendo, and set to be released for the Nintendo Switch on March 22, 2024. It is the first game to feature Princess Peach as the main protagonist since Super Princess Peach (2005).
Development
During a June 2023 Nintendo Direct presentation, Nintendo announced a new Super Mario spin-off game centered around Princess Peach was in development and would be coming to the Switch the next year.[2] During a September 2023 Nintendo Direct presentation, more details of the game were announced - including the title, Peach's sidekick Stella, several transformations, the main villain Wicked Grape, and a release date of March 22, 2024.[3]
Princess Peach's transformations so far include Swordfighter Peach, Detective Peach, Patissier Peach, and Kung Fu Peach. These transformations grant her unique abilities for each play she participates in.[4]
The game is conceived as a stage play,[5] a theme previously used in Super Mario Bros. 3.[5]
