The Young European Research Universities Network (YERUN) is a non-profit association that brings together young research-oriented universities in Europe. YERUN represents 22 universities from 15 European countries.[1] The network aims at strategic collaboration among young European universities to shape future education policies. Furthermore, the initiative seeks to increase mobility for students, researchers and administrative staff among its member institutions.[2]

History

YERUN was launched in Dublin on April 30, 2015.[3]

Organisation

The network is led by the assembly of Rectors, Vice-Chancellors and Presidents of its member universities. The assembly elects an executive board of 5 members that includes a President, a Vice-President, a Treasurer and two board members. The current president is Prof. Dag Rune Olsen (Rector of UiT – The Arctic University of Norway).[4] The network’s activities are coordinated by the Secretariat based in Brussels[5]
