Hello! I appreciate you editing my article. I just had some questions about the comments you made. In your comment, you mentioned "almost none of the content is actually supported by the references". However, I went through and confirmed that the citations are referenced in each spot they appear within the article. Do you have an example of where this is not successful so I know what to better fix? Additionally, I have worked to include other outside references. Because much of the detailed information comes from the college's website, that is why I include a handful of those. However, I have multiple notable mentions in various news outlets to showcase the topic's notability. I just wanted to follow up so I can better make edits. Thank you!

New Page Patrol newsletter October 2022
Hello Stuartyeates,
Much has happened since the last newsletter over two months ago. The open letter finished with 444 signatures. The letter was sent to several dozen people at the WMF, and we have heard that it is being discussed but there has been no official reply. A related article appears in the current issue of The Signpost. If you haven't seen it, you should, including the readers' comment section.
Awards: Barnstars were given for the past several years (thanks to MPGuy2824), and we are now all caught up. The 2021 cup went to John B123 for leading with 26,525 article reviews during 2021. To encourage moderate activity, a new "Iron" level barnstar is awarded annually for reviewing 360 articles ("one-a-day"), and 100 reviews earns the "Standard" NPP barnstar. About 90 reviewers received barnstars for each of the years 2018 to 2021 (including the new awards that were given retroactively). All awards issued for every year are listed on the Awards page. Check out the new Hall of Fame also.
Software news: Novem Linguae and MPGuy2824 have connected with WMF developers who can review and approve patches, so they have been able to fix some bugs, and make other improvements to the Page Curation software. You can see everything that has been fixed recently here. The reviewer report has also been improved.
Suggestions:
- There is much enthusiasm over the low backlog, but remember that the "quality and depth of patrolling are more important than speed".
- Reminder: an article should not be tagged for any kind of deletion for a minimum of 15 minutes after creation and it is often appropriate to wait an hour or more. (from the NPP tutorial)
- Reviewers should focus their effort where it can do the most good, reviewing articles. Other clean-up tasks that don't require advanced permissions can be left to other editors that routinely improve articles in these ways (creating Talk Pages, specifying projects and ratings, adding categories, etc.) Let's rely on others when it makes the most sense. On the other hand, if you enjoy doing these tasks while reviewing and it keeps you engaged with NPP (or are guiding a newcomer), then by all means continue.
- This user script puts a link to the feed in your top toolbar.
Backlog:
Saving the best for last: From a July low of 8,500, the backlog climbed back to 11,000 in August and then reversed in September dropping to below 6,000 and continued falling with the October backlog drive to under 1,000, a level not seen in over four years. Keep in mind that there are 2,000 new articles every week, so the number of reviews is far higher than the backlog reduction. To keep the backlog under a thousand, we have to keep reviewing at about half the recent rate!

The October drive reduced the backlog from 9,700 to an amazing 0! Congratulations to WaddlesJP13 who led with 2084 points. See this page for further details. The queue is steadily rising again and is approaching 2,000. It would be great if <2,000 were the “new normal”. Please continue to help out even if it's only for a few or even one patrol a day.
- 2022 Awards
Onel5969 won the 2022 cup for 28,302 article reviews last year - that's an average of nearly 80/day. There was one Gold Award (5000+ reviews), 11 Silver (2000+), 28 Iron (360+) and 39 more for the 100+ barnstar. Rosguill led again for the 4th year by clearing 49,294 redirects. For the full details see the Awards page and the Hall of Fame. Congratulations everyone!
Minimum deletion time: The previous WP:NPP guideline was to wait 15 minutes before tagging for deletion (including draftification and WP:BLAR). Due to complaints, a consensus decided to raise the time to 1 hour. To illustrate this, very new pages in the feed are now highlighted in red. (As always, this is not applicable to attack pages, copyvios, vandalism, etc.)
New draftify script: In response to feedback from AFC, the The Move to Draft script now provides a choice of set messages that also link the creator to a new, friendly explanation page. The script also warns reviewers if the creator is probably still developing the article. The former script is no longer maintained. Please edit your edit your common.js or vector.js file from User:Evad37/MoveToDraft.js to User:MPGuy2824/MoveToDraft.js
Redirects: Some of our redirect reviewers have reduced their activity and the backlog is up to 9,000+ (two months deep). If you are interested in this distinctly different task and need any help, see this guide, this checklist, and spend some time at WP:RFD.
Discussions with the WMF The PageTriage open letter signed by 444 users is bearing fruit. The Growth Team has assigned some software engineers to work on PageTriage, the software that powers the NewPagesFeed and the Page Curation toolbar. WMF has submitted dozens of patches in the last few weeks to modernize PageTriage's code, which will make it easier to write patches in the future. This work is helpful but is not very visible to the end user. For patches visible to the end user, volunteers such as Novem Linguae and MPGuy2824 have been writing patches for bug reports and feature requests. The Growth Team also had a video conference with the NPP coordinators to discuss revamping the landing pages that new users see.

Backlog
Redirect drive: In response to an unusually high redirect backlog, we held a redirect backlog drive in May. The drive completed with 23851 reviews done in total, bringing the redirect backlog to 0 (momentarily). Congratulations to Hey man im josh who led with a staggering 4316 points, followed by Meena and Greyzxq with 2868 and 2546 points respectively. See this page for more details. The redirect queue is steadily rising again and is steadily approaching 4,000. Please continue to help out, even if it's only for a few or even one review a day.
Redirect autopatrol: All administrators without autopatrol have now been added to the redirect autopatrol list. If you see any users who consistently create significant amounts of good quality redirects, consider requesting redirect autopatrol for them here.
WMF work on PageTriage: The WMF Moderator Tools team, consisting of Sam, Jason and Susana, and also some patches from Jon, has been hard at work updating PageTriage. They are focusing their efforts on modernising the extension's code rather than on bug fixes or new features, though some user-facing work will be prioritised. This will help make sure that this extension is not deprecated, and is easier to work on in the future. In the next month or so, we will have an opt-in beta test where new page patrollers can help test the rewrite of Special:NewPagesFeed, to help find bugs. We will post more details at WT:NPPR when we are ready for beta testers.
Articles for Creation (AFC): All new page reviewers are now automatically approved for Articles for Creation draft reviewing (you do not need to apply at WT:AFCP like was required previously). To install the AFC helper script, visit Special:Preferences, visit the Gadgets tab, tick "Yet Another AFC Helper Script", then click "Save". To find drafts to review, visit Special:NewPagesFeed, and at the top left, tick "Articles for Creation". To review a draft, visit a submitted draft, click on the "More" menu, then click "Review (AFCH)". You can also comment on and submit drafts that are unsubmitted using the script.
You can review the AFC workflow at WP:AFCR. It is up to you if you also want to mark your AFC accepts as NPP reviewed (this is allowed but optional, depends if you would like a second set of eyes on your accept). Don't forget that draftspace is optional, so moves of drafts to mainspace (even if they are not ready) should not be reverted, except possibly if there is conflict of interest.
Pro tip: Did you know that visual artists such as painters have their own SNG? The most common part of this "creative professionals" criteria that applies to artists is WP:ARTIST 4b (solo exhibition, not group exhibition, at a major museum) or 4d (being represented within the permanent collections of two museums).

Draft:International Comission for the History and Theory of Historiography
Dear Stuartyeates,
You have recently reviewed the proposed article on the International Commission for the History and Theory of Historiography (ICHTH), Draft:International Commission for the History and Theory of Historiography. I am grateful for your effort and interest. To my regret, however, you rejected the submission, leaving the following reasons for rejecting the article in my talk page: 'Wikipedia articles require reliable independent secondary sources with in depth coverage of the subjects. I'm not seeing significant independent secondary sources on this org. A quick scan in google scholar isn't helpful either. If decent sources are added to the article, feel free to ping my talk page once you've resubmitted the article for review'.
I must clarify from the outset that ICHTH is not an association that produces scientific historical information itself. Therefore, a scan of Google Scholar will necessarily disappoint. In the Constitution of ICHTH (https://www.ichth.net/constitution) it is stipulated that ICHTH “promotes the study of theory of history, history of historiography, philosophy of history, historical methodology, and historical culture. It encourages debates and exchanges among different approaches to the above subjects of study.” In short, it is a global platform where philosophers of history and historiographers meet, in essence to promote scientific historical knowledge worldwide - a purpose, indeed, that is at the heart of the Wikipedia project itself.
Let me now show you that ICHTH is worth a Wikipedia entry from both a quantitative and qualitative angle.

I think the list already suggests that the ICHTH is not as invisible on the web as the review might have assumed.
However, there are other ways than internet frequencies to assess the relevance of an academic organisation like the ICHTH. Longevity, global representativeness, the prominence of its members within their fields of study should all somehow be included in the assessment. The ICHTH is a 43-year-old academic association. It is an official member of the International Committee of Historical Sciences (https://www.cish.org/index.php/fr/membres/information/?pdb=508), the world’s umbrella organization for historical sciences, but it functions completely autonomously just as the 70 or so other associations affiliated to the ICHS do. ICHTH is made up of leading university professors and researchers from all over the world, many of whom are considered important enough to have their own Wikipedia pages. For example, the Board of the ICHTH (https://www.ichth.net/board) consists of 13 members coming from 12 countries ranging from Canada over Nigeria to China and Australia. And its list of honorary members includes names such as Natalie Zemon Davis, Hayden White, Romila Thapar, Georg Iggers, Peter Burke, Joan Wallach Scott, Jürgen Kocka and Frank Ankersmit - a quick glance at their Wikipedia entries will confirm how important they are/were not only for the theory or history of historiography, but for historical studies in general.
Judging relevance will be unfair if we limit ourselves to the mechanical application of criteria designed to prevent spurious self-promotion or marketing strategies by profit-driven people and companies. And if we think in terms of longevity, representativeness or prominence of members, we will easily find Wikipedia articles on organisations of all kinds that would rank below the ICHTH.

Thank you for reviewing my submission List of California political scandals. As to your points:
TOO MUCH BOILERPLATE: The boilerplate here exactly matches the boilerplate on the article List of Alabama political scandals which has already been accepted by Wikipedia for publication. But I agree with you. Each of the paragraphs is an answer to previous editors who could not seem to find a definition of ‘scandal’.
OLDER CITATIONS: Absolutely. I have citations that go back to 1857. I did not use them because some editors have argued this article is too long. They think it would not fit on a modern cell phone! I therefore censured myself, but could easily add more citations, if it will be accepted.
PUBISHING WITHOUT REVIEW: Perhaps I should be talking to the editor who approved List of Alabama political scandals. He mentioned there is a way for published authors to publish again using create articles yourself, but I’ll be damned if I can figure out how. Impact Module
At the beginning of November 2023, the Growth team deployed the New Impact Module to all Wikipedias. We recently released a follow up improvement to how edit data was displayed based on editor feedback. [10]
Add a Link
We released “add a link” to 35 more Wikipedias. [11] [12]
We have a few Wikipedias remaining:
- German and English Wikipedia will be contacted at the beginning of January 2024.
- There are a few small wikis that will not receive the task until they have enough articles for the algorithm to work properly.
Community Configuration
- We shared Community Configuration 2.0 plans with technical stakeholders. [13] 🖂
- Initial Community Configuration design ideas have been shared and discussed with community members.
- A basic Community Configuration 2.0 demo is released on ToolForge.
- Developers can find some initial proof of concept code shared on gitlab.
Mentorship
When a mentor marked themselves as "Away", they were not getting their name assigned to new accounts when they returned. This has been fixed. [14]
We improved the message received by newcomers when their mentor quits, to reduce confusion. [15]
We worked on ensuring that all mentees are assigned to an active mentor. This required reassigning mentees with no mentors to a new mentor. We paused this as the clean-up script confused some editors. We will resume it when the identified blockers are resolved. [16]
It is now possible to create an Abuse Filter to prevent one user from signing up as a mentor. [17]

@Stuartyeates A draft (Draft:Odisha Urdu Academy) submitted for review was declined with reasons. Now that I've removed a lot of content against wiki rules, is it worth re-submitting now? I will resubmit if you guide me; otherwise, I will try to improve. Khaatir (talk) 07:16, 4 December 2023 (UTC)
- It's hard to say. There's an excellent source at https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/city/bhubaneswar/urdu-academy-put-on-the-backburner/articleshow/54707661.cms . I suspect that there may be more sources in Urdu (this being an Urdu Academy after all). If you can find one or two more articles like that in Urdu, the article will qualify for inclusion. Important points are (a) published somewhere reputable and (b) those involved with the Academy are not involved in publishing the article. Stuartyeates (talk) 07:21, 4 December 2023 (UTC)

- The spacing between paragraphs on Vector 2022 has been changed from 7px to 14px to match the size of the text. This will make it easier to distinguish paragraphs from sentences. [18]
- The "Sort this page by default as" feature in VisualEditor is working again. You no longer need to switch to source editing to edit

- On 6 December, people who have the enabled the preference for "Show discussion activity" will notice the talk page usability improvements appear on pages that include the

Future changes
- The Toolforge Grid Engine shutdown process will start on December 14. Maintainers of tools that still use this old system should plan to migrate to Kubernetes, or tell the team your plans on Phabricator in the task about your tool, before that date. [22]

Draft:Exchange_Job_Definition_Format
Thank you for the suggestion to "steal" some references from https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Exchange_Job_Definition_Format (which is a published article). The principal German author of that page has added several of his sources to our English page, and says we have more sources than he does.
Question: We believe we had addressed all the "reliable sources" & "primary source" complaints, with updates and several secondary sources added, yet the article was declined once again. Do you have any thoughts on how best to clear complaints and get this article published?

In comments to my draft article you wrote "We need independent sources". Please let me know, (1) you need independent sources for existing content or (2) you need extra content with independent sources. If (1) is the case and if you need independent sources for the section "Institutes and Departments", would it be OK to remove this section or maybe I could find independent sources for some items in the list and keep these items removing others and thus making the list incomplete? Please which option is better?

- Hi Ruslan Sharipov. Right now the draft has a wall of sources, almost all sourced to uust.ru. Wikipedia, as a tertiary source is not built on what people say about themselves (primary sources), but what independent third parties say about them (secondary sources). You need to be looking for in-depth coverage, not database / ranking websites or recycled press releases. Look for coverage in region news sources. Coverage of sports teams can also be useful, if independent. You also need to include the Russian name(s) after the English names, so other editors can easily search for sources. It is possible that this newly established institution does not yet have the coverage to meet our criteria, but I don't speak/read Russian, so I'm not sure. - On Wikimedia Commons, there are some minor user-interface improvements for the "choosing own vs not own work" step in the UploadWizard. This is part of the Structured Content team's project of improving UploadWizard on Commons. [23][24]
Problems
- There was a problem showing the Newcomer homepage feature with the "impact module" and their page-view graphs, for a few days in early December. This has now been fixed. [25][26]
Changes later this week
- The new version of MediaWiki will be on test wikis and MediaWiki.org from 12 December. It will be on non-Wikipedia wikis and some Wikipedias from 13 December. It will be on all wikis from 14 December (calendar). [27][28]
