During the match Jeff Hardy jumped of a ladder to leg drop Edge who was laying on a ladder causing it to break. Edge was taken out of the match by medical personal.
Soul legend Aretha Franklin performed "America the Beautiful" at the start of the event, reprising her role from twenty years earlier at WrestleMania III.
