Kashif Nisar (Template:Lang-ur) is a Pakistani television director, producer and screenwriter. The nephew of Pakistani TV Director Tariq Mairaj,[1] Nisar is known for his work as television director on Pakistani Television. He has received several accolades as a screenwriter and as a director, including three Lux Style Awards for Best TV Director.
Career
Nisar made his debut as a screenwriter in 2007 with the family-romance Cousins, aired on PTV Home. He then followed it with Tariq Mairaj's directed Jinnah Ke Naam (2009) starring Saba Qamar, Aagha Ali and Sami Khan. The series was a tribute to Muhammad Ali Jinnah.
Nisar made his directorial debut in 2010 by directing some episodes of ISPR's Faseel-e-Jaan Se Aagay. He directed the episodes Inkaar, Ada-e-Sarfaroshi and Ek Beti, Ek Kahani in the series.[2] The same year, he directed ISPR's Khuda Zameen Se Gaya Nahin which revolves around terrorism and religious extremism.[3]
In 2013, he wrote and directed Kami Reh Gaee which revolves around the complexity of various human relationships.[4] The same year, he directed Ullu Baraye Farokht Nahi which was originally based on the eponymous short story by Amna Mufti, who wrote the screenplay as well.
