Ghulam Muhammad Abad

Ghulam Muhammad Abad(غلام محمد آباد) is a town(Colony) in Faisalabad District, Punjab, Pakistan. It is the largest residential area of Faisalabad.[1] Its area is more than 7000 kanals and contains more than 10000 housing units whereas according to the 2017 census, its population was more than 1.5 million. [2]

Social-Economic life

Ghulam Muhammad Abad is mostly inhabited by middle and lower-class families. The literacy rate is moderate and ranges from 50 to 60 percent. Most people have adopted trade and business. Other professions are relatively rare.[3]

Sports and Culture

This town has nurtured world-class players of Cricket, Hockey, and Kabaddi. Two sports complexes and many playgrounds are in this vicinity. Many cultural festivals including fairs(میلے), musical concerts(قوالی), and sports events are arranged regularly in this area. The majority of the people speak Punjabi and Urdu.[3]

Education
