Request protection of a page, or increasing the protection level

Indefinite extended confirmed protection: Persistent sockpuppetry – Increase protection as a result of suspected ban evasion of sock puppetry, see WP:Sockpuppet investigations/81.104.111.169. microbiologyMarcus [petri dish·growths] 17:51, 27 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Let's see what happens with the SPI. If all the socks get blocked, this problem may solve itself. Daniel Case (talk) 06:12, 28 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Indefinite semi-protection: Persistent sockpuppetry – Recurring LTA target. Last protection was in 2019 and is now currently being vandalised by IP socks of a certain long-term troll. Blake Gripling (talk) 11:55, 29 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Semi-protected for a period of three months, after which the page will be automatically unprotected. Daniel Case (talk) 20:02, 29 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Temporary semi-protection: Persistent vandalism – Sockpuppetry. WP:LTA/LB2. –LDM2003 talk to me! 12:14, 29 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Semi-protected for a period of six months, after which the page will be automatically unprotected. Daniel Case (talk) 20:04, 29 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Temporary semi-protection: Persistent disruptive editing – I have little idea why, but this article seems to have an above-average rate of test edits/accidental edits/potential petty vandalism. See also filter log. Remsense 12:22, 29 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Semi-protected indefinitely. Daniel Case (talk) 20:06, 29 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Reason: High level of vandalism with a user removing negative information. 193.117.187.82 (talk) 12:40, 29 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Declined. A clear spillover from Ashfield Independents, which I had to ECP last week. Macaddct1984 was within their rights to keep taking it out under WP:3RRNO since you kept adding unsourced contentious material about a living person. This would have led to you getting blocked, but since you have now added what appear to be reliable sources to support those claims (something you really should have done from the get-go), we will see what happens next. I have given you a contentious topics alert for BLP, and strongly urge both of you to discuss this if you continue to have issues instead of edit warring.

I will also be putting a CTOPS notice on the talk pages of both these articles. Daniel Case (talk) 19:32, 29 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Indefinite extended confirmed protection: WP:CTOP: WP:A/I/PIA. Wikishovel (talk) 12:46, 29 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Note: Page has been moved to Al-Rashid Street massacre. Although that ought to be moved back to where it initially was per NPOV. 🇺🇲JayCubby✡ plz edit my user pg! Talk 18:39, 29 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Extended confirmed protected indefinitely. Will also log at CTOPS. Daniel Case (talk) 19:41, 29 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Temporary semi-protection: Persistent vandalism. PoisonHK Sapiens dominabitur astris 12:52, 29 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

WP:CT/EE enforcement requested if possible. IanDBeacon (talk) 13:32, 29 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Extended confirmed protected indefinitely. And logged at WP:RUSUKR Daniel Case (talk) 19:48, 29 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Indefinite semi-protection: I'm in the middle of a minor edit spree on uw templates. These are always substituted, so most of them are semi protected (some, template-protected). Noticed this one isn't, submitting for your consideration. (I don't have a full list at the moment, but note that there are more in the same situation, like uw-harass1, uw-ai1). Mlkj (talk) 13:18, 29 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Semi-protected indefinitely. Daniel Case (talk) 19:52, 29 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Temporary semi-protection: Persistent vandalism – LTA; see revision history. Blake Gripling (talk) 13:57, 29 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Semi-protected for a period of three days, after which the page will be automatically unprotected. Daniel Case (talk) 20:11, 29 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Temporary semi-protection: Persistent vandalism – Vandalism restarted by IPs shortly after after page protection was removed. NoobThreePointOh (talk) 14:09, 29 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Whoops, meant to say "after" once. NoobThreePointOh (talk) 14:09, 29 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Semi-protected for a period of three weeks, after which the page will be automatically unprotected. Daniel Case (talk) 19:54, 29 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Indefinite extended confirmed protection: Persistent disruptive editing – Persistent POV push. Semsûrî (talk) 14:51, 29 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Already protected by administrator Ohnoitsjamie. for six months. Daniel Case (talk) 19:56, 29 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Extended confirmed protection: Persistent disruptive editing – New editor ignoring guidelines regarding sourcing and listcriteria. Wants me to "stop interfering with the development of the Kazakh fandom",[1], mentioned canvasing [2], was warned not to, [3], then did it anyway.[4] (the friend is already blocked,[5]). When I offered to help them learn, they replied they do not have time.[6] I thought they intended to stop 11 February 2024 [7] but they have continued.  // Timothy :: talk  15:10, 29 February 2024 (UTC).  // Timothy :: talk  15:10, 29 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Semi-protected for a period of three months, after which the page will be automatically unprotected. Daniel Case (talk) 20:14, 29 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Reason: High level of vandalism (i.e. giving him category of fascist leaders) Xaelor (talk) 15:39, 29 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Semi-protected indefinitely. Daniel Case (talk) 20:15, 29 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Temporary semi-protection: Persistent disruptive editing – Repeated recreation of a declined draft without adequate sourcing. Thebiguglyalien (talk) 16:26, 29 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Semi-protected for a period of three days, after which the page will be automatically unprotected. Daniel Case (talk) 20:18, 29 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Reason: High level of linkspam.   –Skywatcher68 (talk) 17:07, 29 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Semi-protected indefinitely. Daniel Case (talk) 20:23, 29 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Semi-protection: High level of disruptive edits by anon IPs and newcomer accounts in recent weeks. Shadowwarrior8 (talk) 18:47, 29 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Declined – Not enough recent disruptive activity to justify protection. Daniel Case (talk) 19:57, 29 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Semi-protection: Persistent addition of unsourced or poorly sourced content. FMSky (talk) 19:08, 29 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Reason: This disambiguation page has seen an uptick of disruptive editing and vandalism since mid-January from IPs and newly created accounts arguing over some type of furry. It's not like daily but I think it could use some protection. (I tried to make this request a minute ago but a bot got rid of it for no reason). StreetcarEnjoyer (talk) 19:17, 29 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Temporary semi-protection: Persistent vandalism. --Another Believer (Talk) 19:34, 29 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Reason: Persistent sock puppetry. 2600:1008:B046:5F55:498D:4C21:191D:9DB6 (talk) 19:37, 29 February 2024 (UTC) Semi-protected indefinitely.[reply]

due to persistent LTA edits from IPs over the course of several years. I will also be tagging article with {{primary sources}}, as this appears to be an underlying issue that partially caused the edit warring in this case; the content the LTA objected to may well be unjustified, but removing a source and half of the information cited to it while leaving a full paragraph of now-unreferenced information is extremely disruptive editing even before we get to the edit warring and name-calling. signed, Rosguill talk 20:12, 29 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Reason: IP vandalism. Salmoonlight (talk) 19:40, 29 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Temporary semi-protection: Persistent sockpuppetry – Multiple socks over several days involved in edit-warring. There have been at least two confirmed socks of the same user ([8], [9], [10]) and in the last 24 hours at least 4 brand-new single-purpose accounts are participating in the same edit-war ([11], [12], [13], [14]). An SPI has been started for the latter (here), but this looks likely to continue in the near future. R Prazeres (talk) 19:40, 29 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Indefinite semi-protection: Lots of IP vandalism. PC seems to be insufficient now. 2600:1008:B046:5F55:498D:4C21:191D:9DB6 (talk) 20:22, 29 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
