Suzy Duflo (born in Guadeloupe) is a French otorhinolaryngologist and researcher. In 2018, she was awarded the Legion of Honor

Life

Suzy Duflo grew up in Basse-Terre.[1] She studied medicine at the University of Montpellier  .[2]

She is head of the otolaryngology department at Pointe-à-Pitre University Hospital and a university professor in September 2009, after her departure from Timone  hospital .

In 2018, she acted as president of the medical commission (CME) of the Pointe-à-Pitre University Hospital to defend the establishment's allegations of excess mortality. In 2019, there wast a general strike . During the covid-19 pandemic , she ensured the establishment of a care unit to treat patients  . She tested positive for covid-19 shortly after. She was replaced as the head of the CME in January 2021  .

In March 2016, she became vice-dean of the University of the West Indies  then dean in 2023 .[3]
