The 2024 season is the Washington Commanders' 93rd season in the National Football League. It is their second under owner Josh Harris and first under general manager Adam Peters and head coach Dan Quinn.[1][2] Peters was previously the assistant general manager of the San Francisco 49ers for the prior three seasons; Quinn served as Dallas Cowboys' defensive coordinator in the same period. Additional changes to the coaching staff included the hiring former Texas Tech and Arizona Cardinals head coach Kliff Kingsbury as offensive coordinator and Cowboys secondary coach Joe Whitt Jr. as defensive coordinator.

After trading quarterback Sam Howell to the Seattle Seahawks early in the offseason, the team selected LSU quarterback Jayden Daniels, winner of the 2023 Heisman Trophy, second overall in the 2024 NFL draft.
