Portugal To-do:

Find correct name The airport is not listed as João Paulo II anywhere. The airport's own website calls itself simply Ponta Delgada, and has no mention of João Paulo.

  • Category:History of Portugal: lots to remove there
  • Template:Regions of Portugal: statistical (NUTS3) subregions and intercommunal entities are confused; they are not the same in all regions, and should be sublisted separately in each region: intermunicipal entities are sometimes larger and split by subregions (e.g. the Metropolitan Area of Lisbon has two subregions), some intercommunal entities are containing only parts of subregions. All subregions should be listed explicitly and not assume they are only intermunicipal entities (which accessorily are not statistic subdivisions but real administrative entities, so they should be listed below, probably using a smaller font: we can safely eliminate the subgrouping by type of intermunicipal entity from this box).

latest detail

Ronaldo actually lives in a small Cheshire village close to Jodrell Bank and is driving a show r u he was a stupid footballler hhahahhah ilver Audi Q7 at the moment. KerminchamCat 20:15, 3 April 2007 (UTC)KerminchamCat[reply]

That's great, but cars and houses are trivial, and the "personal life" section is basically a trivia section by another name. I don't have a problem with deleting the "personal life" section altogether. Objections? Ytny (talk) 20:29, 3 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Career stats table

The table that someone keeps reverting to is too big. I put the current one in because it actually fits on the screen. Kingjeff 16:37, 11 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

World cup incident

The "world cup incident" section seems to be way taking up way more space than it should. More importantly, it mentions that there was speculation that Ronaldo affected the sending-off, while there is no description of the event itself, Rooney's stamping and pushing of Ronaldo (was that Ronaldo's fault really?) It just focuses on how the English media used him a scapegoat without taking an objective view of the event itself. The section seems pretty biased and way too big. Xioyux 02:04, 12 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

That section is a disgrace. The man is somehow responsible for Wayne Rooney being a loose cannon? Look at this article in other languages and you will find little if any mention of this "incident". Only the most bitter England fans in denial and muck-raking journalists would come to this absurd conclusion. This section doesn't even describe the event - it simply suggests Christiano was at fault. Look at the YouTube video one more time and I defy you to put the blame on anyone other than Rooney. Ronaldo isn't even within 12 feet of Rooney when the offense is committed. Please grow up folks. - Plasticbadge 23:59, 5 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Definitely. This is Rooney's incident not Ronaldo's. Deman7001 02:16, 2 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Height

I'm not 100% on this one but I believe he is 6'2" and not 6'0" like stated on his page here. I've heard many football analysts refer to him as being a "big" guy at 6 feet 2 inches. It is also evident when you look at photos of him. On the field, he appears to be taller than most of the players. The terminator1000 00:19, 14 April 2007 (UTC)the_terminator1000[reply]

There is a template that is used here that calculates from metres to feet and inches. If you can find an article or profile that states your claim then you can use it to redo the height. Kingjeff 00:54, 14 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I change the height to 184cm based on the profile on this page premierleague.com profile. I remove the reference from Official Manchester United website since it doesn't list his height there. Martin tamb 09:23, 29 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Too much emphasis on 06/07 season.

I think there's too much emphasis on this current season. He has been at Manchester United for over four years and yet under "Manchester United" over half of the content describes his form this season. It's not even the end of the season yet and it's already cluttered. In a few years time this article will be a novel. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 80.0.226.75 (talk) 02:13, 17 April 2007 (UTC).[reply]

Just something

It's quite clear that Ronaldo is one of the, if not the outright best, player in the world. There's no doubt at all. So why is this not at all mentioned? I know it's minor but he's certainly deserving of it...

If you have a citation that states that, in can be added, else it's POV. Darkson - BANG! 23:42, 25 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Several players (Gerrard, Joe Cole, Terry, Rooney), and Ferguson and Queiroz have hailed him as the best in the world. If he/she cares enough, the citations are certainly there. Kronix1986 04:28, 16 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Additional Awards not mentioned:

Ronaldo was awarded Portugal's Sport Personality of the Year for 2006 (preceded ny Nuno Gomes) source: http://uk.sports.yahoo.com/31122006/3/portuguese-paper-names-ronaldo-sportsman-year.html — Preceding unsigned comment added by 202.163.208.51 (talkcontribs)

He was also awarded the PFA Fans' Player of the Year (thus making a clean sweep of all 3 PFA awards - he was preceded by Rooney on this award) source: http://www.goal.com/en-india/Articolo.aspx?ContenutoId=287915

PFA Fans' award added. Darkson - BANG! 23:42, 25 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Awarded FWA's PLayer of the year this season. He was preceded by Theiry Henry link: http://uk.reuters.com/article/footballNews/idUKL0303432320070504 Another note: With Ronaldo winning both PFA Player of the Year and Young Player of the Year awards and it's the first time ever a player collected the Writers' award, too. Andy Gray was beaten to it by Emlyn Hughes in 1977 - the year when United denied Liverpool the Treble. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 202.163.208.51 (talkcontribs)

Other Additional Awards not mentioned:

  • Barclays FA Premier League Player of the Year.

Ronaldo was also awarded 'Sir Matt Busby Player of the Year 2003/2004' which is missing from the list.— Preceding unsigned comment added by 213.123.200.231 (talkcontribs) 12:53, May 23, 2007 (UTC)

World Cup incident caption

The information is completely wrong: Rooney kicked Ricardo Carvahlo. It should say something like "sparking speculation that Ronaldo had tried to influence the referee in sending Rooney off." — Preceding unsigned comment added by 88.104.219.254 (talkcontribs)

wrong

there is a wrong with n. of goals i cant fix it because i dont knoe how many goals --62.150.156.55 05:59, 10 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The infobox shows the number of league goals only per discussion at Wikipedia:WikiProject Football, and at least according to this link, 35 goals in 128 games is correct as of May 10.--Ytny (talk) 06:15, 10 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Personal life

Another thing which might be said here is that Cristiano is now dating a portuguese girl. I won't say her name, i will only say this relationship will not be shown in the media like other Cristiano relations.— Preceding unsigned comment added by Portuguesa (talkcontribs) 16:43, May 22, 2007 (UTC)

Well, that's not really going to help, what with the Wikipedia policy of verifiability. --Ytny (talk) 21:00, 22 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Typo in the Special Achievements Section

In the "Special Achievements" section, the second bullet states "...becoming the first player to will all three..." where it should obviously be "...becoming the first player to win all three..." .
