Re [1]

If there are no legitimate edits to a page after an instance of vandalism, one can select the history tab on the page, select the last good version of the page prior to the vandalism, then edit and save this old version of the page without modifying it. The page will be reverted to the version you selected. A request for an administrator to block a vandal can be made on Wikipedia:Administrator intervention against vandalism. Before vandals can be blocked, however, they must ordinarily be warned using appropriate templates. These templates, and additional information about countervandalism efforts, are described on Wikipedia:Vandalism. Thank you for reverting vandalism on Wikipedia. Hello

Uh...Hi there, i'm not a wikipedia user. I'm just a kid trying to know some music terms that are new for me. Like for example I wanted to know what a band's B sides are-or what they mean? And also what is an EP?59.183.167.133 15:05, 13 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Well hello. First you should know what's a single; a song released by a band to increase sales or recognisation, these often are the songs that people like the most from an album, compilation of songs. Some bands like The Beatles however often didn't include their singles on their albums which then were released only on two-faced vinyl records, as well as the singles (often on smaller discs: 12" for albums, 7" for singles as the disc would have a minor length). Many single discs were packaged as one-track discs but other had even more songs than the single itself so they would be called EPs (for extended play). The single song was recorded on the A-side of the disc, and the other song on the B-side, therefore the name. You can see examples on Beatles "She Loves You" (single) and its b-side "I'll Get You".
Nowadays, b-sides are still an option or a tradition that many bands still follow so they release a single with one, two or even three b-sides (look at Muse's "Cave" or Keane's "Somewhere Only We Know"). As many of this songs are rarely known (50,000 copies by single and up to millions on albums) they are considered rarities and may be sometimes difficult to find; these often aren't released on albums. Also, the term EP is now despected to a five or six track CD such as Coldplay's The Blue Room EP or Keane's Live Recordings 2004, like a proto-album. However, EP and CD Single are often synonyms. Hope that solves your doubts and if you have any other come and ask me.--Fluence 00:14, 14 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hey thanks! And one more... A CD single is an LP to be heard on the gramophone?

Well the gramophone record is equal to vinyl so a CD isn't technicaly a gramophone. An LP or long play is equal to album. You can call "EP" a CD Single or "LP" an album but not LP a CD single. Remember a CD single is a short record. When a CD has more than 5 tracks it's a bit odd to call it CD Single (single for "one"). You can see that on "singles" like Muse's "Muscle Museum" 3-track CD Single and Muscle Museum EP 5-track CD which both were intended to promote the song "Muscle Museum":)--Fluence 01:25, 15 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you so much. You are the greatest!

Hi

Hi, could you tell me in easy language how to make a userbox? I just can't get through a word on the userbox page. You see I wanted to make a box for The Vines-like some kind of a tribute.Victoria Eleanor 14:40, 14 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fluence

I will, Fluence. I will marry you.

By the way, I am the MEKON. Fear me.

Okay

Thanks for the description...i'll see if I can do anything about it. But I will certainly try! And I guess THE MEKON wants to get married to you. Well that is gross, no doubt about it. I don't basically encourage my friends to get married to cunts you know! And he/she needs to be told that we're not here to fear anyone, we're here to do our job of ignoring idiots.Victoria Eleanor 13:09, 15 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Mekon

Sarcasm doesn't become you, Fluence.

Hey!

Well i'm still confused about the entire userbox thing. So I was just wondering whether you could make the userbox for me. I'm not forcing you so you can say no if you like...I won't feel bad at all:) Sorry if i'd be causing you trouble!Victoria Eleanor 10:49, 17 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Would you please check the Tom Chaplin page. It's literally gone and I dont know who's done it!Victoria Eleanor 14:58, 18 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It was done by User:Can't sleep, clown will eat me, an English Wikipedia administrator. The reason he provided was "re-stubbed due to WP:BLP concerns". If you take issue with what he has done, either mention it on the talk page of the article, or on his talk page. --Dreaded Walrus t c 15:19, 18 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Image Copyright problem
Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading Image:Keane2003.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. BigrTex 18:14, 18 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Have you lost your mind!

C'mon Fluence, Keane is your favourite band. How can you change your mind like that? Oh I know, you're just tired of the vandalism and the Keane critism from shit like The Mekon. You seriously need a break. I'm not joking on this.Victoria Eleanor 05:06, 19 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Keane_WMAWBS.jpg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Keane_WMAWBS.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. BigrTex 15:12, 19 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Okay

So now i've got the hang of it. The guy who happened to be Fluence is not you so now i'm not confused. I was pretty sure something was wrong because it's practically impossible for anyone to start hating their favourite band so suddenly just because for a few idiots. So I checked the history of my talk and then your IP address wasn't there. So obviously i realised it was the guy who called you a cunt previously. Yes it's the same guy.

And about the userbox, don't worry I got the hang of it and put them on my user page. Check them out!Victoria Eleanor 03:53, 20 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, To assist global anti-counterfeiting efforts you may wish to consider marking images of banknotes you upload as "Specimen" in some way, if those banknotes represent legal tender.ShakespeareFan00 11:57, 20 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

No it's not

It's not a joke. So you're Fluence. June talked highly about you. She said you were the only friendly one on wikipedia. As for the message I left on her talk, please ignore it, I was really sentimental at that time. But she's not out of danger. She overdosed on her sleeping pills. I found her completely dazed and so took her to hospital. But the doctor's not very hopeful of her. That's why pray. I don't want to lose her, and i'm sure you don't want to either.Jade1984 16:28, 21 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hey!

Hey, how ya doin?? Victoria was telling me about you the other day. And can you e-mail Victoria or something and find out exactly what happened to her? I am really worried. Lets just pray for the best. Thanks. :-) Jayant,18 Years, Indiacontribs 20:04, 21 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Not a joke again, though wish it was

June died a few hours back. Please pay tribute to her by signing your name on her user page. I can't believe this is happening.Jade1984 04:13, 22 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

See You Soon?

On User:Victoria_Eleanor#Message, you said "see you soon" . . . this doesn't mean what I think it does, does it??? Arundhati lejeune 10:46, 23 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

What do you think? That she could be alive... Jade1984 11:03, 23 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

That Fluence had plans on joining her. Just wanted to be sure. Arundhati lejeune 11:50, 23 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The Random Acts of Kindness Barnstar
Thank you for your support. Those song lines and that message would have definately made June happy. Thank you. Jade1984 11:03, 23 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

And please, please, please don't lose hope. Don't harm yourself if that's what you're thinking. Remember June would never want to meet you in heaven... She would've always wanted you and others to live.Jade1984 06:05, 24 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

June

Do you have any information about June that you would like to share for the Obituary at Wiki Signpost?

Image:MexicoWTC.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:MexicoWTC.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Alx 91 18:34, 24 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
