List of SpongeBob SquarePants episodes

This is a list of episodes from the Nickelodeon animated television series SpongeBob SquarePants. The series premiered on May 1, 1999. Since then, there have been a total of 81½ episodes to date, which includes six specials, two episodes in three parts. Also, there has been one short, and nineteen commercials. Sixteen individual episodes have been named and will air in the future.

		Tea at the Treedome	Spongebob meets Sandy Cheeks, a land squirrel, and is invited to her house. To try and impress her, he tries to withstand the air in her treedome without any water.
2	July 17, 1999	Bubblestand	Spongebob sets up a "bubblestand", which eventually leads Squidward to try and convince Spongebob that there is no technique to blowing bubbles.
		Ripped Pants	After an embarrassing attempt to weight-lift, SpongeBob inadvertently discovers a perfect way to make someone laugh - by ripping his pants.
3	July 31, 1999	Jellyfishing	SpongeBob and Patrick take Squidward jellyfishing on his "best day ever".
		Plankton!	Plankton is introduced. He tries to use mind control to obtain the Krabby Patty formula.
4	August 7, 1999	Naughty Nautical Neighbors	Squidward destroys SpongeBob and Patrick's friendship, leading to chaos.
		Boating School	SpongeBob tries to pass his boating exam. Mrs. Puff is introduced.
5	August 14, 1999	Pizza Delivery	SpongeBob and Squidward deliver a Krabby Patty pizza.
		Home Sweet Pineapple	Nematodes leave SpongeBob without a house. He tries to stay in Bikini Bottom, but it appears he'll have to move in with his parents.
6	August 21, 1999	Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy	SpongeBob and Patrick attempt to get superheroes Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy out of retirement.
		Pickles	SpongeBob loses his confidence in his work after a picky eater named Bubble Bass claims there were no pickles in his Krabby Patty. Mr. Krabs then tries to get SpongeBob his confidence back.
7	August 28, 1999	Hall Monitor	SpongeBob becomes hall monitor at boating school. He decides to continue his patrol duties outside of class, leading to chaos.
		Jellyfish Jam	SpongeBob brings home a wild jellyfish.
8	September 4, 1999	Sandy's Rocket	SpongeBob and Patrick sneak into Sandy's rocket. Crashing back on earth, they think they're in space and capture many Bikini Bottom residents who they think are aliens in disguise.
		Squeaky Boots	Mr. Krabs gives SpongeBob a pair of squeaky boots after his daughter Pearl rejects them, but the idea backfires when the squeaking drives him crazy.
9	September 11, 1999	Nature Pants	SpongeBob tries to live with the jellyfish.
		Opposite Day	Hoping to move but doubting he can sell his house with SpongeBob around, Squidward tells him that it is opposite day. At first SpongeBob acts quiet and unlike himself, but after a while he proves Newtons 13th law: the opposite of crazy is still crazy.
10	September 18, 1999	Culture Shock	Squidward hosts a talent show at the Krusty Krab.
		F.U.N.	SpongeBob befriends Plankton.
11	September 25, 1999	MuscleBob BuffPants	SpongeBob orders fake muscle arms. It becomes a problem when he's entered in an Anchor Toss Competition.
		Squidward the Unfriendly Ghost	When SpongeBob and Patrick think they've killed Squidward (actually melting a mannequin), Squidward pretends to be a ghost.
12	October 2, 1999	The Chaperone	SpongeBob takes Pearl to her prom.
		Employee of the Month	SpongeBob and Squidward compete for the "Employee of the Month" award.
13	October 28, 1999	Scaredy Pants	SpongeBob tries to be scary on Halloween.
		I Was a Teenage Gary	Squidward forgets to feed Gary while SpongeBob is out of town. After getting Snail Plasma from the doctor, SpongeBob is accidentally injected with it and turns into a snail.
14	December 31, 1999	SB-129	After getting stuck in the freezer trying to escape from Spongebob, Squidward is taken 2000 years ahead of time and tries to get back to his own time period.
		Karate Choppers	SpongeBob and Sandy become obsessed with karate.
15	January 17, 2000	Sleepy Time	At night SpongeBob's consciousness ventures into others' dreams.
		Suds	SpongeBob gets a case of the Suds.
16	February 14, 2000	Valentine's Day	SpongeBob's Valentine's gift for Patrick goes awry.
		The Paper	Squidward's trash becomes SpongeBob's treasure as he plays with a piece of paper. Now Squidward wants it back.
17	March 15, 2000	Arrgh!	Mr. Krabs leads SpongeBob and Patrick on a treasure hunt.
		Rock Bottom	SpongeBob takes the wrong bus and ends up "below" Bikini Bottom in a spooky town called Rock Bottom.
18	March 22, 2000	Texas	Sandy becomes homesick, and decides to return to Texas.
		Walking Small	Plankton attempts to get SpongeBob to be mean.
19	April 1, 2000	Fools in April	SpongeBob's April Fools Day pranks annoy Squidward.
		Neptune's Spatula	SpongeBob competes in a cooking contest against King Neptune (voiced by John O'Hurley).
20	April 8, 2000	Hooky	Mr. Krabs warns SpongeBob and Patrick of the dangers of fishing hooks.
		Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy II	SpongeBob wins a calling conch and Mermaid Man and Barnicle Boy try to make a quick sympathetic negotiation so that he can stop the pointless tasks he gives them.

23	November 16, 2000	Big Pink Loser	Patrick pretends to be Spongebob in order to win an award and even gets a short-lived job at the Krusty Krab.
		Bubble Buddy	SpongeBob creates a friend that is a bubble.
24	December 28 2000	Dying for Pie	Squidward buys a bomb disguised as a pie for SpongeBob, and thinks SpongeBob will die, so he will give him his best hours.
		Imitation Krabs	Plankton builds a robot version of Mr. Krabs.
25	February 17 2001	Wormy	While watching over Sandy's pets, Spongebob and Patrick befriend a worm named Wormy, but they get terrified when Wormy unknowingly changes into a "monster"(a butterfly).
		Patty Hype	While trying to come up with an idea to attract customers to the Krusty Krab, Spongebob gets an idea to sell colored Krabby Patties called Pretty Patties.
26	March 6 2001	Grandma's Kisses	SpongeBob tries to dissuade his grandmother from kissing him, and embarrassing him in front of his friends.
		Squidville	Squidward moves to Tentacle Acres.
27	May 5 2001	Pre-Hibernation Week	Sandy takes SpongeBob to do some extreme stunts before her hibernation.
		Life of Crime	SpongeBob and Patrick steal a balloon and become short-lived felons.
28	December 6 2000	Christmas Who?	Patchy really needs a good Christmas special. SpongeBob brings Christmas to Bikini Bottom.
29	March 5 2001	Survival of the Idiots	SpongeBob and Patrick are stuck in the Treedome while Sandy hibernates.
		Dumped	Gary follows Patrick around, and a heartbroken SpongeBob tries to convince his pet snail to come back.
30	March 7 2001	No Free Rides	Mrs. Puff tries to steal SpongeBob's boat when he is illegally given a driving license.
		I'm Your Biggest Fanatic	SpongeBob tries to join a popular club called the Jellyspotters.
31	November 27, 2000	Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy III	Patrick and SpongeBob, while in charge of Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy's Mermalair, accidentally release Manray and try to teach him to be good.

		Band Geeks	Squidward makes a band by himself to try and impress his high school rival Squilliam. Apparently the best episode ever.
36	September 6, 2002	Graveyard Shift	Squidward tells a scary story about the Hash Slinging Slasher.
		Krusty Love	Mr. Krabs dates Mrs. Puff and gets stuck between his two greatest loves- Mrs. Puff and his money.
37	November 30 2001	Procrastination	SpongeBob tries to make an essay with 800 words, but procrastinates.
		I'm with Stupid	SpongeBob pretends to be dumb so that Patrick can impress his parents on Starfish Day.
38	September 21 2001	Sailor Mouth	SpongeBob and Patrick discover a bad word, start saying it everywhere, and try to break the habit of saying the bad word.

		Doing Time	Mrs. Puff goes to jail, and SpongeBob and Patrick try to bust her out. But she wants to remain in prison to stay away from SpongeBob.
46	February 22 2002	Snowball Effect	SpongeBob, Patrick, and Squidward start a snowball fight.
		One Krabs Trash	Mr. Krabs tries to get a soda-drinking hat back from SpongeBob so he can get a million dollars for it.
47	March 8 2002	As Seen on TV	Fame goes to SpongeBob's head after making a brief appearance on T.V.
		Can You Spare a Dime?	After Mr. Krabs falsely accuses Squidward of stealing his first dime, Squidward quits his job and lives with Spongebob, only to abuse Spongebob's hospitality.
48	March 15 2002	No Weenies Allowed	SpongeBob's lightweight appearance prevents him from entering the Salty Spitoon, the toughest club in Bikini Bottom.
		Squilliam Returns	Squidward pretends he owns the Krusty Krab(disguised as a fancy restaurant) to impress Squilliam.
49	March 29 2002	Krab Borg	SpongeBob and Squidward think Mr. Krabs is a robot.
		Rock-a-Bye Bivalve	Patrick and SpongeBob become parents of a scallop, but Patrick takes advantage of SpongeBob so he can spend time at "work."
50	May 10 2002	Wet Painters	Patrick and SpongeBob are hired to paint Mr. Krabs' house, but to not get paint on anything except the walls. Chaos ensues when they get it on Mr. Krabs' first dollar.

60	October 11 2004	SpongeBob Meets the Strangler	After tattling on the TattleTale Strangler and getting threatened by him, Spongebob gets a bodyguard-the Strangler himself.
		Pranks a Lot	SpongeBob and Patrick play with a bottle of invisible paint and become the "Bikini Bottom Ghosts."

76	January 15, 2007	The Thing	After being covered in cement, the Bikini Bottomites are convinced that Squidward is an unknown species and SpongeBob tries to keep him as a pet.
		Hocus Pocus	With a special magic kit, SpongeBob is convinced that he turned Squidward into an ice cream cone.
77	February 19, 2007	Driven to Tears	Patrick passes his boating exam and gets a new boat which makes SpongeBob jealous.
		Rule of Dumb	Patrick becomes king of Bikini Bottom. However, during his reign, he becomes a mean tyrant.

		Best Frenemies	Mr. Krabs and Plankton put their differences aside to seek the secret of a new competitor.

	July 24, 2007	Squid Wood	SpongeBob makes a Squidward replica after he refuses to play with SpongeBob. However, the replica succeeds in all of Squidward's dreams, leading Squidward to try to get rid of him.

A Random Act of SpongeBob

1	November 2, 2006	Crossing the Street	SpongeBob attempts to help an old lady cross the street, but little did he know, she wanted to take the bus. After SpongeBob is notified he runs after the bus, but trips and the old lady goes flying. She ends up using her umbrella to swing on a street light and flies into the bus, and says "Thank you" to Spongebob. Two of the bus passengers include Tom and Fred. He gets run over by a boatmobile in the middle of replying "You're welcome!"
2	November 2, 2006	Anything for Baby	SpongeBob boards a bus, and sees that a baby is crying. So, he decides to cheer her up by making funny faces from outside the window. The baby cheers up, but the bus passes a sign in which SpongeBob is caught on, which reads "Bikini Bottom 300 miles."
3	November 2, 2006	Flowers for Sandy	SpongeBob is carrying a bunch of packages into his house when he realizes that it's Surprise Sandy Day. So, he sneaks over to Sandy's Treedome and places a bouquet of flowers in the vase on her picnic table with a note that says. "To Sandy, the smartest, prettiest Squirrel in Bikini Bottom. Signed: A Friend."
4	November 2, 2006	Me Money	Mr. Krabs discovers that his money is gone, so he shakes Squidward hoping to find his money. As it turns out he did not have the money, but Mr. Krabs found SpongeBob in the kitchen cleaning all the coins and paper money. Mr. Krabs then put his money in his safe, where SpongeBob was cleaning inside.
5	November 2, 2006	Pie	SpongeBob and Patrick make a pie and one ingredient is Patrick's shorts. Then Squidward eats it and they ask him if he's seen their pie "the one we spent all day making, just for you?" Squidward is guilty, and he accidentally burps out Patricks shorts.

3	December 4, 2002	Plankton's Holiday Hits	A fictional commercial for Plankton's Holiday Hits album featuring parodies of songs and albums such as "Born to Run," "Deck the Halls," and "Joy to the World." At the end, an announcer provides how to "receive" the album by sending the Krabby Patty secret formula to the Chum Bucket.
4	December 4, 2002	12 Days of Nickmas	Nicktoons sing the 12 days of Christmas with their own version. Including 12 bubbles blowing, 6 jamming jellies, and a starfish on a pine tree sung by SpongeBob, Squidward, and Patrick respectively.
5	December 4, 2002	How The You-Know-Who Stole You-Know-What!	A parody of How the Grinch Stole Christmas, which featured Plankton as Cindy Lou.
6	December 4, 2002	Nickelodeon Holiday Party	Nicktoons celebrate Christmas at Santa's workshop at the north pole, as a parody of Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer. There was a snapshot of SpongeBob ripping his pants, which was supposedly the picture patrick had in The Secret Box Episode.
7	December 4, 2002	A Chuckie Finster Christmas	A parody of A Charlie Brown Christmas features an ad for Krabby Mint Patty advertised by Mr. Krabs.
8	April 2, 2005	Nickelodeon Blimp	SpongeBob and Gary are walking down the street when an orange blimp falls from the sky. SpongeBob gets excited about it and then asks Gary "What's a blimp?" This was also shown on the 2006 and 2007 shows.
