The film ends on a happy note with the reunion of Shankar and Jahnavi. This film has few of the trademark fights or/and dances(so called) that have become a staple of Chiranjeevi movies. Shankar Dada Zindabad (Telugu language: శంకర్ దాదా జిందాబాద్,translation: Long Live Shankar Dada) is an 2007 Telugu film which is a remake of the 2006 Bollywood blockbuster Lage Raho Munnabhai. Rajkumar Hirani, the director and co-screenwriter of the Munna Bhai series, is one of the screenwriters for this film (along with the Paruchuri Brothers). In addition, Dilip Prabhavalkar reprised his role as Mahatma Gandhi.

The film directed by Prabhu Deva, stars Chiranjeevi as Shankar Dada, Srikanth as A.T.M (Any Time Murder), Sayaji Shinde, Karishma Kotak, Sadha and Raja . The Music is scored by Devi Sri Prasad.[1][2] The movie, released on July 27, 2007 opened to rave reviews.[3]

Plot

Shankala Dada (Chiranjeevi) is a local dada and ATM (Srikanth) is his right-hand man. Shankar loses his heart to Jahnavi (Karishma Kotak), a radio jockey, after listening to her sweat voice in an FM channel. When a contest is announced on Gandhi and his preachings with a chance to meet the radio jockey, Shankar enlists some professors in making his dream a reality.

With the help of the professors, Shankar manages to win the contest and meets her. Jahnavi invites him to Second Innings House where there are some old men to give a lecture on Gandhigiri. With no options left, Shankar goes to library and reads about Gandhi.

As he continues to study about Gandhi, Shankar gets hallucination of watching Bapu. It helps him in a way in giving good messages to the society.

Shankar starts frequenting to Second Innings House to meet Jahnavi. Rajalingam (Sayaji Shinde) eyes that house, for the marriage of his daughter. Learning that Shankar's girlfriend Jahnavi is staying with those old men, Rajalingam plans a trip for Shankar along with Jahnavi and the old men and gets the building vacated by ATM.
