Gran Turismo HD (High Definition), previously known as Vision Gran Turismo at E3 2006, was to be the first installment of the Gran Turismo racing series to be released on the PlayStation 3. It was made available as a free downloadable concept title, which was released on the PlayStation Store on December 24 2006.[1] Polyphony Digital chose to abandon Gran Turismo HD and focus on developing Gran Turismo 5. The concept features ten cars and two layouts of a single track.[2]

An update (1.2) was released on April 5th, 2007 that adds force feedback support for Logitech's steering wheels.[3] A version 2.0 was released at the launch of the Australian/European Playstation Store on March 23rd 2007.
