There have been many rumours circulating that the Spa Valley may intend re-opening the line from Eridge (at the north of the Cuckoo line) towards East Grinsted; as part tourist attraction and part local transport - in a similar vane of the Swanage Railway. There is immense local support, particularly as it will ease congestion on the overloaded main A26 in to Tunbridge Wells.

Other options may include extending services from Eridge south along the former Cuckoo line. There is immense local support for such a project, particularly if the company were to operate the line as part of the local transport infrastructure. Sadly, all of the stations are now in private hands, but there are various means to overcome these obstacles. As most of the track bed remains in tact, one can only hope that this once important line will once again take its rightful place as an integral part of the local transport system.
