The 2002 Japanese Grand Prix was a Formula One motor race held at Suzuka on October 13, 2002. It was the seventeenth and final round of the 2002 Formula One season.

  • Last Race: Eddie Irvine
  • 50th pole position for Michael Schumacher
  • Allan McNish crashed hard during Saturday qualifying coming out of the 130R corner, going backwards so hard into the guardrail that he went through it. McNish was unharmed, but has not raced in Formula One since, Toyota having already announced that he would be dropped for the 2003 Formula One season.
