==Reinstatement of above==

I disagree with the last revert made to my page, so I have overruled it and reinstated the above section. Also while I am at it, I have decided that I have no effective remedy inside Wikipedia for getting the block overturned. I don't feel I could get a fair hearing with any administrator or with the Arbitration Committee, which I would like to appeal to if I could be reassured of a fair hearing. Instead, I may seek remedies outside Wikipedia such as resort to the New York state court system. There is another idea, the right to vanish and start over under a new name. I may exercise that if I don't pursue judicial remedies first. [[User:ESCStudent774441|ESCStudent774441]] ([[User talk:ESCStudent774441#top|talk]]) 03:00, 14 April 2008 (UTC)

IP address block

I'll happily overturn the IP block if you pledge no further disruptive, unexplained removals of maintenance tags and avoid further vague legalese ramblings that can be reasonably understood as threats of legal action. — Scientizzle 03:54, 14 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding your legal citations in support of your claims, I'm quite certain you're mistaken, and any further inquiry should be with the Wikimedia Foundation. Regarding CZ, I have no opinion on the matter--I don't know or care enough presently to develop one. Regarding your college's "policy against using Wikipedia"--I imagine it's only against using Wikipedia as a citable source. There's good reason for that, and I would advise similarly to any student. However, as a research tool it can be incredibly useful. I believe everyone benefits from a free source of usually-accurate, generally-balanced information that ideally links to and builds from primary, secondary, and tertiary sources of greater detail. — Scientizzle 04:02, 14 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

What happened was in a project I had to complete back in the September term of last year I cited to Wikipedia on a political piece. She went up one side of me and down the other then brought up Empire State College's policy on Wikipedia. Man, when she is on a roll she's on a roll. I was looking up Inter Arma Enim Silent Leges.68.236.154.131 (talk) 03:48, 19 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

As to anything else, fine you get your wish. Sorry I'm not more lyrical, I have to undergo a blood test in prelude to a followup visit with my primary care physician and it requires me to fast 12 hours prior. This is making me somewhat loopy right now. See you around.

As I have indicated to administrator Scientizzle on his talk page I am retiring from participation in the Wikipedia community. My reasons therefor are private, but I will miss being around. I'll let you in on a hint, too much infighting here. Good luck to those remaining. ESCStudent774441 (talk) 00:49, 19 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Retirement

There's nothing permanent about retirement 'round here. You can come & go as you please as long as you haven't been subject to some community sanction (which, as I far as I can tell, you haven't been).

If/when you return, just remove {{retired}} from your page and go about your business. Drop by if you have any questions in the future... — Scientizzle 01:10, 19 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Coming out of retirement

I have made a decision, I am going to come out of retirement. But I will have to wait on resuming my discussion with all others until morning. I am seriously exhausted. See you in the morning. ESCStudent774441 (talk) 05:05, 19 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Officially as of this evening I hereby announce my return from early retirement. I will use this account, but the IP address access page will remain retired. But I am returned at last. Good to be back. Also, earlier at Adirondack Community College I saw some nasty remarks by supporters of competitor Citizendium espousing its superiority to Wikipedia. If anyone would like to comment on which one they support, drop a note. ESCStudent774441 (talk) 03:14, 20 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did to User:VigilancePrime.. Your edits appeared to constitute vandalism and have been reverted. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. Docg 01:48, 21 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I did no such thing Doc, I corrected an act of vandalism. You reinstated it, I will reverse your revert and make a log of it to administrator Scientizzle. If you interfere again, I will pursue my options of recourse against you, whatever ones I have here. ESCStudent774441 (talk) 01:55, 21 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Difference between you and Scientizzle, at least I have a chance of a fair hearing with him. ESCStudent774441 (talk) 01:55, 21 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Actually, you marked a user as indef block who is NOT indef blocked. The tags on his page say "not blocked" and he put them there himself. Please leave them alone.--Docg 01:58, 21 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Comments

Thanks for getting back to me. If you're dissatisfied by my Admin actions, by all means please feel free to raise a request for comment on them, which is normally a condition precedent for arbitration. You do have to bear in mind, however, that in such processes, your actions are just as much under scrutiny as mine. Personally, I have no qualms whatsoever about my own judgement. --Rodhullandemu (Talk) 00:32, 23 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Of course I respond quickly. I am here between twelve and sixteen hours a day, and that is because I believe in the mission of building a compendium of knowledge that is as comprehensive and correct as possible. In between dealing with the "teh Wikpedia sucks" and "Tmo Criuse is GAY!!!!" vandals, I have a list of articles that need writing. For my sins, I put myself forward as an Admin, because that at least would give me the option of preventing outrageous vandalism, and I was fortunate enough to have been a good enough editor, perceived to have the right attitude, to be (s)elected. But that carries a responsibility to protect the encyclopedia from harm, which I strive to achieve. Nothing is really perfect here, but it works in a rough sort of way, and the various policies are well-intentioned. If a policy seems to be working in individual cases against the mission, I'll ignore it. However, popular opinion, however incorrect, seems to have been that you were yesterday disruptive, and three appeals against a block is supremely optimistic. That's why I declined your third bite of the cherry, and protected your talk page, because I saw it going on until you got the result you wanted. Sadly, that's not what it's about. We are all volunteers here, although if I were paid for what I do, WP couldn't afford me. No hard feelings, but please, forget, move on, and contribute constructively. Happy editing! --Rodhullandemu (Talk) 00:56, 23 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I've responded to your remarks at my talk page, you'll want to review the response, and if necessary, continue there. ++Lar: t/c 01:00, 23 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not declining your unblock, I'm also not unblocking you, at this time. Please answer these questions:

  1. Do you acknowledge that your behaviour so far has not met our norms, and undertake to understand why that is?
  2. Do you undertake to never make a legal threat again, even a veiled one, acknowledge that you are expected to abide by Wikipedia policy, and undertake to do so to the best of your ability?
  3. Do you acknowledge that the level of complaining about your treatment is far out of proportion to any possible "slight" you might have received, and undertake to edit in article space, and drop this matter going forward?

Please answer all three of these questions. "yes" or "no" are the only acceptable answers, anything other than an explicit "yes" to each one will be taken as a "no"... Your honest answers will help me decide if there is merit in considering lifting your block or whether it's best to leave you indef blocked. ++Lar: t/c 03:44, 23 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Where should I answer, here or your talk page? ESCStudent774441 (talk) 03:46, 23 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Be back later, I have to take some medication, feel free to answer in the interim. ESCStudent774441 (talk) 03:47, 23 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
There, took my medication for back pain. ESCStudent774441 (talk) 04:00, 23 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Given that you are blocked, here is the only place you can answer. So please answer here. As an assistance to your thinking process, consider that the admin you were (in contravention to policy) insisting yesterday be the person to evaluate your appeal is the one that blocked you today. You really should think about that. Further, I'm going to bed and I will review your (hopefully one word) answers to my three questions in the morning, so take your time, and get to the answers you really think are correct. Again, spend time reviewing and reading and thinking about the implications of WP:FIVE for starters. ++Lar: t/c 04:10, 23 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Based on your answers in the affirmative I've asked Scientizzle for his approval to unblock you. I'll reblock you myself the first time I see anything at all outside the scope of good faith article contributions that are in full compliance with our policies... stay OFF people's talk pages completely would be my advice till you get the hang of how to be collegial. Do not misunderestimate (sic) me, you are on a very short leash. ++Lar: t/c 16:15, 23 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I am in the process of considering my options, such as resignation from the project. Since reinstatement doesn't seem a possibilty, what have I to lose anymore? ESCStudent774441 (talk) 16:35, 23 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Resignation is your option at any time, just stop editing. Getting your block lifted is indeed a possibility, I wonder if you read what I wrote just above? ++Lar: t/c 17:39, 23 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

No one seems to want to help me learn the processes and procedures, no one will help get my idea on CDPHP started, so what have I to lose by resignation? People here can't wait to drive me out, for defending freedoms of expression I have advocated for those who can't defend themselves all my life. That is the essential me, I fight for those who can't fight for themselves, and I'll do it to my dying day. ESCStudent774441 (talk) 16:55, 23 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Please learn to use indenting, it keeps things tidier. There are lots of programs and processes to help new editors, you just need to do some research. Again, I commend you to read WP:FIVE and the places it will lead you. Have you? Have you investigated the resources linked in your welcome message, at the top of this page? No one will hold your hand through the whole learning process, but if you ask specific questions in the right places you likely will get answers.
You seem to be stuck on "free speech" and "fighting for rights". If that is a strong interest of you, I commend you to organizations like Amnesty International or the ACLU. Both surely have branches on your campus. But this project is not about rights or free speech. it is a project to write an encyclopedia and everything else is subsumed to that. This has been explained to you many times. Further, by a "yes" to question three, you undertook to let this go. Let it go.
As for your desire to write about CDPHP, no one is stopping you. Create a subpage of your user page, ESCStudent774441/CDPHP and start writing. Do make sure everything is neutral and cites given for anything that isn't obvious (think of someone from say Singapore reading it). But I suggest that an article on the main insurance firm, Physician's Health Plan, might be more general interest. You can include material about your chapter there. Again, perhaps start on your user page at ESCStudent774441/Physician's Health Plan. (after you are unblocked) If you make a good start at it, I'll give you a hand. Read WP:NPOV, WP:RS and WP:V before you start, please, and do things as they suggest. ++Lar: t/c 17:39, 23 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You have been unblocked, per your agreement. As I said in the unblock: "User has agreed to discontinue disruptive behaviours and understands that any resumption will be grounds for an immediate reblock." ... please keep that in mind. Any admin that sees you acting disruptively by their estimation should feel free to reblock you, so please keep that in mind as well. ++Lar: t/c 01:10, 25 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I got your mail saying you are autoblocked. Please paste the text of the autoblock message here, thanks. And please stop mailing me, just post here, unless it's urgent and no one is paying attention (over the span of at least a day) ok? ++Lar: t/c 01:59, 25 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
In particular, follow the instructions in Template:Autoblock carefully. Thanks. ++Lar: t/c 02:03, 25 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Rescind of Resignation

The tag didn't work, guess I need to practice some with it. So in the alternative I'll just announce here I rescind my resignation as we agreed. I'll practice some in the sandbox. Hope to see you again soon. I may not be very active though, got a professor friend who may or may not have a critical illness, growth shown on MRI scan on the liver. Hope to high heaven Lar, that it isn't cancer. I'll inform you all later of the result. Last notes, I rescind all previous statements detailed before me as legal threats. Request to be made

If I am starting fresh, may I remove the templates of my blocking and my unblocking requests? Thank you to any concerned. ESCStudent774441 (talk) 05:04, 25 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It's your talk page, you can clean it up any way you choose. Jauerbackdude?/dude. 13:01, 25 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
To clarify, yes, you can remove the block notices, any warnings, anything you want from your own talk page. They'll always be available in the history, though. I would suggest archiving them, though. That way you're not "hiding" anything and they'll be readily available for viewing, if needed. Jauerbackdude?/dude. 20:00, 25 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Free speech

You have no enforceable right to free speech on Wikipedia. You also have no right to disrupt the project and no right to use it to further your point of view or agenda. You have precisely two enforceable rights: the right to fork and the right to leave. Obviously you've been labouring under a misapprehension, so I'm glad to be able to clear that up for you. Deletion review

Seeing your issues with Doc Glasgow's recent "trigger happy deletions of articles he doesn't like", I thought your opinion would be worth hearing on Wikipedia:Deletion_review#24_March_2008. Much thanks Sherurcij (Speaker for the Dead) 17:57, 24 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

some answers and some advice

I happened to (in scanning and reading your recent contributions, as I said I would be doing) see you ask an admin about the various unblock templates, and whether they can be removed from your talk. Yes, they can be. My recommendation is to archive your talk page off to a separate file via copy paste (look on my talk for a very elaborate way to do it, or on many other pages, where people just give links) and start fresh... you may want to leave a few convos behind if they are still ongoing but most of the resolved matters can go. Read about it at the "archive your talk page" help page. Hope that helps.

Now some advice. I would strongly recommend that you find some relatively non controversial articles to help out on, to build up your experience in working in this environment... most of your contributions since the unblock are on talk pages or on internal discussion such as deletion review and the like. Remember that this is primarily an encyclopedia. Why not start putting together some notes for an article on Physician's Health Plan as I suggested previously. Hope that helps. ++Lar: t/c 17:08, 26 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

My other message on talk page was something like a diary entry. I don't know if you read any yet. There was an AMBER Alert issued by the State of Georgia on March 6 this year for three children abducted by their father. Just a couple days ago they were found dead. I feel in a word, crushed to death. I wish I could trade my life for all of theirs. ESCStudent774441 (talk) 21:51, 26 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I'll commence my work on CDPHP as soon as possible, need to get some facts from them. And I am now in session at ESC so I might be further delayed.ESCStudent774441 (talk) 22:00, 26 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Senator Bruno spats

There seems to be some debate over local Senator Joseph Bruno. People can't seem to decide if he is our Acting Lieutenant Governor or not. My conclusion is that if one performs the powers and duties of an office, you are acting in the position in question. Look to the definition of Acting in the legal context here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Acting_(law) That is where I take my lead from. ESCStudent774441 (talk) 03:35, 27 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Here's a chance for you to try to see how working collegially works. See if you can, by working with people on the other side of the view, find a wording that satisfies both the need to describe what it is Sen. Bruno is doing, AND satisfies the letter of the NY State constitution, which (somewhat schizophrenically, apparently) seems to both say that Bruno is the guy to carry out the duties of the Lt. gov while at the same time insisting the title not be used! Note also the numbering issue with governor... maybe if you can go through the governor succession box on the governors who weren't elected, that might give you some guidance... The article needs to convey both what the reality of the matter is, and what the NY State constitution says. Good luck, it's an odd problem. The way to sort it is to, on the talk page, propose wordings that satisfy the views of all concerned, rather than to assert one view is correct and one isn't. That's not necessarily easy, but it is how things are best done. (you found a rather thorny problem, actually, even if it's small in the grand scheme of things). Meanwhile, try some gnoming on completely noncontroversial things... ++Lar: t/c 11:13, 27 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Editing of talk page

I have removed the block templates and nasty messages of my past from this page. I feel it's my right to remove reminders of the past from my page. I'd like to start cleanly.ESCStudent774441 (talk) 22:24, 4 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It absolutely is. What some people do is archive their entire page but selective removal is not against policy. However, be aware that if you receive warnings or notices, removing them will be taken as evidence that you've seen them, so their absence from your page would not be a defense, just keep that in mind... ++Lar: t/c 23:13, 4 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, if one would like to tell me how to archive information, feel free to leave me a message. Time to get back to work. ESCStudent774441 (talk) 23:23, 4 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Your request for adminship

Good evening. It might not be your intention, but some of the messages you have left for other users notifying them of your request for adminship could be construed as Canvassing. Examples of these messages include this, this, and this. Typically, candidates can place a notice on their talk page ("I'm a candidate"), but it's considered bad form to solicit input at the RfA by posting messages of this type. You may wish to refrain from further such messages. Thanks, UltraExactZZ Claims ~ Evidence 03:23, 7 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I agree, I don't think it's a violation of WP:CANVASS, but it could be seen that way, which is why I left a note. No offense intended. UltraExactZZ Claims ~ Evidence 04:30, 7 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I'm User:RyRy5. I suggest withdrawing from your RFA. You are not yet experienced. You only have little than 1 month experience and you have only 150+ edits. I have 4600+ edits with 2 months of experience and I doubt that I will pass my own RFA. You don't have to, but this is a suggestion of course. But you may find yourself ending with a WP:SNOW closer, and nobody likes to see that happen. Thanks! If you would like some teaching to, please ask on my talkpage. Cheers.--RyRy5 Got something to say? 04:01, 7 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I closed your RfA out. I don't see it going in your favor and suggest that before you entertain the idea of accepting another one that you spend more time reviewing pages such as WP:TRI and WP:5 pillars. Retirement

April 2008
This user is no longer active on Wikipedia.

I am retiring from Wikipedia, reasons are ill health at this time of not just myself but members of my family. Also I find myself at odds with several of the administrators on here and I find in my weakened state I can't deal with any of them anymore. The stress they've placed on me is probably why I am so weakened these days. Not that anyone cares if I retire, but this is my decision. This time I won't be so quick to rejoin. That said, farewell to those who supported me in my struggle to make a difference. You are my friends, and I'll miss you all. ESCStudent774441 (talk) 05:19, 9 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

If I start again at all, which isn't likely, I'll exercise the right to vanish and start over with a new account where the stain on this one won't carry and I can start fresh. I wanted to before but it seems I cannot. Not as long as the record retains my past here. ESCStudent774441 (talk) 05:32, 9 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I am sorry to hear your retiring. I understand that family comes first. I hope you do well, and if you do decide to come back, please give me a shout. Good luck. Cheers.--RyRy5 Talk to RyRy 02:45, 10 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I am honored to here those kind words, and yes I would like for you to stay. But if you are having any problems, such as your real life, you should instead go on a wikibreak. Or if it is very important in your life but you know you can still edit here, become semi-retired. I hope you decide to stay. Thanks.--RyRy5 Talk to RyRy 00:10, 12 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I suggest going semi. I am very happy you have decided not to fully retire. So, what would you like to learn?--RyRy5 Talk to RyRy 02:05, 12 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Reply

Well, what do you mean by "a return"? Are you talking about being semi-retired? Also, you cannot really be editing without being fully-active. I think you can, but not even I can install something like that. BTW, do you need help creating a better userpage? I would be happy to help out.--RyRy5 Talk to RyRy 02:14, 12 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, I thought you meant something else. Of course you can edit while being semi-retired. Also, I suggest waiting many months before trying to become an admin (I know it sounds alot, but not even I am ready for adminship). So, what/how do you want to improve of your userpage?
Also, please do not keep on starting new sections. If you have noticed, I have been putting comments under only one section (unless you are starting an entirly new conversation.--RyRy5 Talk to RyRy 02:22, 12 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Actually, you can edit even when retired. So, how do you want to improve of your userpage?--RyRy5 Talk to RyRy 02:27, 12 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I don't think that is possible. Everyone edits, even if they say they are "never" coming back. Also, use 1 more colon after every message. If you edit your talk page and look at my recent messages, you should see how it is formatted.--RyRy5 Talk to RyRy 02:32, 12 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I see you attend Empire State College. Also, do you understand the colon thing (it is very hard to fully explain). Try it out.--RyRy5 Talk to RyRy 02:38, 12 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Go ahead and create your own sandbox where you can test and experiement.--RyRy5 Talk to RyRy 02:42, 12 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Whether you lift the block or not don't matter. I'll let the Almighty judge between us. ESCStudent774441 (talk) 00:45, 14 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Reinstatement of above

I disagree with the last revert made to my page, so I have overruled it and reinstated the above section. Also while I am at it, I have decided that I have no effective remedy inside Wikipedia for getting the block overturned. I don't feel I could get a fair hearing with any administrator or with the Arbitration Committee, which I would like to appeal to if I could be reassured of a fair hearing. Instead, I may seek remedies outside Wikipedia such as resort to the New York state court system. There is another idea, the right to vanish and start over under a new name. I may exercise that if I don't pursue judicial remedies first. ESCStudent774441 (talk) 03:00, 14 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
