Mediation Cabal case

Hello, you initiated the mediation case Wikipedia:Mediation Cabal/Cases/2008-01-01 Extraordinary rendition by the United States. I have accepted the case as mediator, and would like to know if you accept me as mediator. I hope that a satisfactory compromise can be reached. Regards, Keilanatalk(recall) 20:17, 1 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, I accept you as the mediator. Thank you.--Ccson (talk) 20:21, 1 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
He said that he didn't accept mediation because lower levels of dispute resolution haven't been tried. I would suggest an RfC, I'll comment on the issue if you want me to. If that doesn't solve the problem try (in this order) Mediation Cabal, Mediation Committee, and (the absolute last resort) ArbCom. Hopefully an RfC or informal mediation will solve the problem though. Regards, Keilanatalk(recall) 18:56, 4 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I'll keep an eye on it, I'll comment if I feel the need to. Thanks for the notification! Best, Keilanatalk 00:12, 12 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
No, he is allowed to comment, he just can't put it as a neutral, third-party comment when it really isn't. Hope this helps. Best, Keilanatalk 21:30, 12 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Edit

Brother,

Please stop reverting the edits of other users to the Alpha page. The details of such events such as the process of opening the fraternity to men of all races are very important, and Brother Mason's research is a very reputable source. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 65.23.108.181 (talk) 15:03, 2 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You don't need the citation in the intro. it's included where this is discussed in the artile namely:

In 1940, true to its form as the "first of first", Alpha Phi Alpha sought to end racial discrimination within its membership. The use of the word "Negro" in the membership clause of the constitution which referred to "any Negro male student" would be changed to read "any male student." This was the first official action by a BGLO to allow the admission of all colors and races; the fraternity has been interracial since 1945.

Editing

Brothers,

Please refrain from removing each others citations and information. The information about Bernard Levin is not secretive, is well-cited, and is very important to our great organization's history. Thank you. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Thetruth007 (talkcontribs) 15:06, 2 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Scientifc racism

This type of racism or hearing by this name is new to me. can you provide some information regarding Alpha's interest so I can see if it can be included in various articles.?--Ccson (talk) 05:58, 4 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I don't have a specific reference of Alpha's involvement. I just thought it was an interesting topic. Feel free to remove it from the template. Absolon S. Kent (talk) 11:42, 4 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
All items listed in the template should be a national program or a cause the national group has undertaken, such as the Jena Six. I also listed topics the World Policy Council has commentd on because it a national program of the fratenrnity. You can look at press releases on the national site to see what additional topics the national office has chosen as items of interest.--Ccson (talk) 15:49, 5 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Like I said I just thought it was interesting. Feel free to remove. Absolon S. Kent (talk) 16:24, 5 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The World Policy Council and extraordinary rendition

It seems to me that the debate has shifted to issues other than simply the reliability of the World Policy Council as a source, to also include consideration of balance within the article for which the reliable sources noticeboard is not the appropriate forum.

I advise letting the request for comments run for about a week, because people often come up some time after a request is posted to make their comments, and others want to do research. (For instance, some organisations are mentioned much more in printed sources than in online ones, so checking at a major library for mentions may be a way of casting light on the issue).

If no-one else offers their opinion about the RFC, and you still remain in dispute with other editors over the inclusion of a reference to the World Policy Council, I would advise making a request for mediation. Sam Blacketer (talk) 22:23, 12 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi

Hi, Ccson. I hope you are okay. Well, Alpha Kappa Alpha is almost an FA, but did not make Jan. 15, 2008, unfortunately. I added a picture that Knicks took of the APA board to the APA article. Thanks. Miranda 10:41, 18 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

thanks for the picture, let me know if I can help with the AKA article.--Ccson (talk) 19:58, 21 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

List of omega brothers

You flagged 2 names of the the List of Omega Psi Phi brothers beause the source was unreliable. Why is this source unreliable? thanks--Ccson (talk) 18:21, 7 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Actually the external link has been improved since I flagged the article. The original link did not list the individuals in question. Looks like it has been updated. Absolon S. Kent (talk) 18:50, 7 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Well then that was a good call by you. I think the editor who added the link was a newbie and probably didn't understand initially how to get it to work. thanks.--Ccson (talk) 15:01, 8 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Reference

I just yahoo'd my name and came across a post. I'm guessing one of my One of my Chapter bro's put me into the famous Alpha section. I see you need some verification that I am an Alpha. Can you let me know what is acceptable. Thank You

The threshold for inclusion in Wikipedia is verifiability, not truth. "Verifiable" in this context means that readers should be able to check that material added to Wikipedia has already been published by a reliable source. Editors should provide a reliable source for quotations and for any material that is challenged or is likely to be challenged, or it may be removed. Please see verifiable and you may use any of the 200 references listed in article as what constitutes a reliable source. If you locate a reliable source, I can update the list with this info. Also, do you know of any other Alpha Olympians that are not already included in the list?--Ccson (talk) 03:35, 30 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

KK's template could get deleted

Are there any standard nav templates that you could use for {{Kwame Kilpatrick}}? The template that you created is a single use template and has a high probability of being deleted under guidelines at wp:tfd. —MJCdetroit (yak) 01:01, 2 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Not sure, I modeled this after Template:Bill Clinton. But if it has to be deleted, that's okay, I just thought it was okay because of the one I saw for Clinton. thanks for the heads up.--Ccson (talk) 13:58, 3 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I was thinking that might be the case. While ideally slick Willy's template should be a standard template, it is probably given more leeway for two reasons: Bill Clinton is much more notable than KK and by definition it is not a true single use template; it's transcluded on about 20 pages. I won't be the one to TfD it but you may want to look around for a standard template that you can use for this. —MJCdetroit (yak) 15:42, 3 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
it's not that important to me. you may request the TFD.--Ccson (talk) 21:03, 4 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
