::::The Slovenian nationalists showed up [http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=User_talk:Orangemarlin&redirect=no#Simply_Unacceptable_Behavior here]. Apparently, my concern for keeping consistency in the article means I'm sort of a anti-Slovenian bigot. Let me say this carefully. Never been there. Met Kopitar a few times, and that makes the single Slovenian I've ever met. Don't really care about the country, mainly because from an economic standpoint, it's kind of small. It does not have a history of anti-semitism, which makes it a better than a lot of slavic nations. But I digress. I care about hockey, not Slovenian nationalism. This sucks. Barnstar

The Original Barnstar
To Gmatsuda for significant expansion of Manzanar. This editor took an expanded stub and made substantial additions of content, prose, and references. Keep up the good work! Ishu 11:42, 21 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

"Manzanar" is now a credit to the encyclopedia due to your efforts. Thanks for contributing to the project. -Will Beback · · 09:47, 8 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Wow, just wow... You did some great work expanding the poor start class article Manzanar I started so long ago (mostly based on what a National Park service employee told my field study group - turns out he got some of the facts wrong). I'm busy now, but I look forward to reading what you've done in detail and comment on any outstanding issues you may be working through. --mav 17:09, 21 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Congratulations

While many hands participated, it was primarily your hard work, diligence, and scholarship that resulted in the promotion of Manzanar to Feature Article status. I'm glad to see that those efforts have finally been recognized. Thanks for contributing to Wikipedia. ·:· Will Beback ·:· 22:10, 17 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ya did good. I'm proud to have a slight hand in your featured article. And thanks for the Barnstar. It's my first, and I'll cherish it. --Milkbreath 00:53, 18 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Barnstar

The Los Angeles Barnstar of Merit
I, Taifarious1, hereby award you the Los Angeles Barnstar of Merit for your extensive and comprehensive work on the Manzanar article, no doubt single-handedly gaining its featured status, and to a lesser extent, the Los Angeles Kings article. I have reviewed the history of both articles and have seen that you have made significant contributions to both, thus making you the first winner of this award. Well done, (♠Taifarious1♠) 08:46, 17 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Wow. I'm honored. Don't know what to say other than thank you. I look forward to continuing my work on the LA Kings article, which I intend to (eventually) get up to FA status. -- Gmatsuda (talk) 11:15, 17 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

BTW: No, I cannot claim exclusive credit for getting Manzanar up to FA status. I may have been the primary contributor, but others were involved and deserve credit (and they know who they are, so I won't list them here). -- Gmatsuda (talk) 11:17, 17 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hey again. In hopes to improve the status of this article as much as possible, I have spent a good portion of today working on this article. Today, I have added a large amount of references, which was the major issue facing that article. Before I touched it today, there were five references. Right now, there are a total of 20 references. Here is the link to the changes I've made thus far. There are still several statements that require references, but I think this is a very good start. Feel free to review my work and add to it as you see fit. By the way, most of the references I added have come from the Kings' 2006-07 and 2007-08 media guides, with many others coming from HockeyDB.com.

I think this is a very good start at improving this article even more than I did when I did that major re-write (it would've been much easier for me if I had added the references when I did the re-write). I think that this is a very good start at possibly getting it to good article status. I'm interested in hearing your feedback about my work today. Ksy92003(talk) 22:46, 30 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Staples Center

I advise that you reframe from reverting as your concerns are being addressed. If there are any concerns at all you feel are being inadvertently ignored, please discuss this in the article's talk page. Thank you. -- bulletproof 3:16 07:21, 15 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

There was nothing in the talk page about my concerns being addressed. In fact, no one has said a thing about them, really. -- Gmatsuda (talk) 07:24, 15 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Do keep in mind that it is 11:48 PM and I am currently awaiting your response.-- bulletproof 3:16 07:48, 15 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Ohhh...REVERTING. Big difference. Looks like we just got our wires crossed, so to speak :-) -- Gmatsuda (talk) 07:51, 15 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Much appreciated. Unfortunately, it is getting a bit late here (I'm sure you know since you are a fellow Californian). I propose that we continue the discussion tomorrow. -- bulletproof 3:16 07:58, 15 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
OK...my concerns are all in the talk page for Staples Center... -- Gmatsuda (talk) 07:59, 15 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I find this tag a bit strong for this article, as it does have references and external links that have been done appropriately. Please consider going through the article and tag the items of concern with {{cn}}, so as to clarify specifically how it might be fixed. Thanks, Kukini hablame aqui 19:29, 22 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The article has just two citations and they aren't even formatted properly. This article needs a lot more references/inline citations. As for external links, they should be used instead as inline citations that would appear under references unless they are used to supplement what's already in the article (see WP:EL and WP:MOS). -- Gmatsuda (talk) 19:42, 22 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry

SOrry about that guy that just vandalized your user page. About 3 admins edited conflicted while try to rv, block, and post on his talk page. RlevseTalk 02:08, 25 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Heh...I never would've known since I just got here. :-) Thanks. -- Gmatsuda (talk) 02:56, 25 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Main page nomination for Manzanar

I'm not finding it, was it removed? Chris (クリス • フィッチ) (talk) 20:37, 2 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Apparently...trying to figure out why. -- Gmatsuda (talk) 20:37, 2 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I guess there can be only five requests on that page at any given time...so it was removed. I'll re-nominate ASAP. Keep an eye out. -- Gmatsuda (talk) 20:49, 2 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Let me know when it reappears on the list. FYI, I think the 5-article limit is one of the silliest wiki rules ever. Raul and I had a huge debate about it once. RlevseTalk 21:27, 2 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Standing by. --Milkbreath (talk) 22:44, 2 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You could immediately replace the 0 point nomination sitting at the top, but since it already has a lot of supports, I suggest you wait until the next round of openings. If you miss the slot in the next round, then just replace a low-value nomination right away. Another suggestion is to ask the nominator who is holding a late date (for example in May) and ask if you could take his/her spot in the queue. --RelHistBuff (talk) 06:04, 4 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Ignore that. I put it up when a slot cleared. --RelHistBuff (talk) 13:27, 4 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You should have removed the stuff that said that America should be ashamed. But thats all right.Ill do it.Saltforkgunman (talk) 01:28, 7 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Wow, reading this guy's edit history, um, where's my tinfoil hat? Keep up the good work, and don't let Salty get you down. :) Chris (クリス • フィッチ) (talk) 05:47, 7 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Kopitar, Slovenia and Yugoslavia

We've got some Slovenian nationalist getting kind of annoying at Kopitar's article. I edit NHL articles because they're supposed to be fun, but this isn't. Maybe I'm not getting the editor's point. Anyways, if you can help out, I'd appreciate it. OrangeMarlin Talk• Contributions 18:19, 20 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I warned the guy about being reported as a vandal if he continues to ignore established WikiProject guidelines. -- Gmatsuda (talk) 21:27, 20 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Hello Gmatsuda. I used the Jaromir Jagr solution; take a peek. GoodDay (talk) 00:51, 21 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

OK, another question

I just realized you did extensive edits to the Manzanar article. You have complex set of interests on this project. OrangeMarlin Talk• Contributions 18:25, 20 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I am not one who likes listings of trivia in articles (see how I delete external links in Medical articles), but there was a beautiful song by Van Dyke Parks called Manzanar. It's a fairly notable song during the 80's (I think). Anyways, if you ever heard the song, you'd love it. And Parks is also from LA, so that can't be so bad! OrangeMarlin Talk• Contributions 18:45, 20 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Haven't heard the song and yeah, I wrote 99% of what you see in the Manzanar article. I'm hesitant to add every song/movie/book, etc. that had something to do with Manzanar, though. Oh...if you are so inclined, the article is up for WIkipedia's main page on April 26. Go to Wikipedia:Today's featured article/requests and add your support if you like! -- Gmatsuda (talk) 21:29, 20 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Speaking of complex interests, don't know if you're familiar with my work on the LA Kings. Check out Frozen Royalty, Online Kingdom and HockeyTalk -- Gmatsuda (talk) 21:31, 20 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I will definitely support that article. I am an unusual person with relatives that were in concentration camps in Nazi Germany and the United States. I'm probably the answer to a trivia question, like my favorite all-time trivia question for Hockey--what was the only NHL goal scored by a Jewish player with the assist from another Jewish player. The Kings were involved. At any rate, I do have one of your websites bookmarked in my special NHL folder. Unfortunately, it includes Eckland, who appears to just create random comments. Take a listen to the song, because it is touching. OrangeMarlin Talk• Contributions 05:44, 21 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for adding your support for Manzanar on the main page! -- Gmatsuda (talk) 05:57, 21 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Damnit...you mentioned "Eklund" here. Now I have to delete this page before I puke! :-) Seriously, the guy has zero credibility. -- Gmatsuda (talk) 06:03, 21 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
