"Originally drafted?"

That's not what it's saying. It's not implying he could be drafted again (though actually it is possible at this point) and it's not implying he's not a Ram now. Yeah, but they're both correct. You're just putting emphasis on the wrong part of the sentence. "originally" doesn't go with the word "drafted", it goes with the whole sentence. Player A is a quarterback for the Arizona Cardinals. He was originally drafted by the Dallas Cowboys in the first round of the 1987 draft." And so on. "Originally" is just saying when his career began, which sounds better any time but a guy's first year. The thing is, I'm not going around to add it to every guy that's played a year, I'm just making the intros that way now. It even makes sense for a guy that hasn't changed teams.
