To Whom It May Concern,

Look, I'm sorry. I was honestly just having a little fun, and have been getting carried away. But I have contributed legitimate articles. Whatever happened though to freedom of speech, don't I have the right to just fool around a little bit without getting blocked? But in spite of all this, I apologize. I'm sorry. The jokes are done, from now on I'll just keep posting legitimate articles. As you have probably guessed, Eclair, Dom The Bomb, all of the Ghosh-related material, and O.A. Ruscaba are all "patent nonsense."

Thanks.

Thanks.

I just got word that I've been promoted to administrator. I truly cannot begin to thank all of you enough, whether you supported me or not. Even the oppose votes show that you care about the project. I promise not to let you down and I promise to personally thank each and every one of you!

Many Thanks

Thanks for supporting my RFA. It couldn't have happened without your effort. FeloniousMonk 17:35, 15 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I think you were a bit quick on the button on this one. I was actually editing it for an expansion and got an edit conflict with your deletion. Yes it was a sub-stub, but there was the context there to do easy expansion to a decent stub. 1 google search did it.

Could you restore the history since the current version incudes soem text based on the original sub-stub? DES (talk) 18:43, 15 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

You wrote: I'll have to take a look as to how. The original entry was nothing more than something like "Geo is a Pakistani television channel" without so much as a period. - Lucky 6.9 18:45, 15 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I know -- that is what I started editing from (I think it did say "GEO TV" though). If the undel of history is too tricky, how about a note on the talk page indicting the user who created the first sub-stub? DES (talk) 18:51, 15 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for fixing the history. DES (talk) 19:05, 15 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Just wanted to let you know that I changed your copyvio link, it appears that the text was originally on IMDb gkhan 19:06, August 15, 2005 (UTC)

I'm fine with you joining in on the request for arbitration, but if you don't mind it would be nice to cut the snarky retorts, even if you are being baited. I hope you understand; I'm trying to keep the tone professional, as I think that improves the chances of handling this issue successfully. --Michael Snow 21:11, 15 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Maoririder's past

When I was looking at Maoririder's latest contributions, I noticed he worked on an article called Prison Break which fit his style perfectly. But when I checked the history, to my surprise it wasn't created by him, but by User:Historicperson. This user's talk page is very similar to Maoririder's- people begging him to stop with the nanostubs. I'm thinking they're the same person. What do you think? Speedy request

Hey! Could I get you to delete Joshua Bendowski (only if you agree that it meets the criteria, of course)? It's an anon article and speedy tags seem to get removed from it, so I'd like to get it trashed before my tag is removed. Thanks in advance! --Scimitar parley 17:09, 17 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Nice catch...

Noticed on the block list that you caught a User:ZScout270 on wheels before they could "contribute" — good eye! - jredmond 19:51, 17 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. You deleted List of Japanese given names today. Why? It had a VFD debate without a consensus being reached. See Wikipedia:Votes for deletion/List of Japanese given names. There was some further discussion about the fact that there was not a consensus on the talk page, but that appears permanently gone. --ChrisRuvolo (t) 23:44, 18 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thanks for dropping by. That poor title had been created and deleted 114 times, mostly as nonsense. Last time it was posted, it was, well, nonsense. It can easily be unlocked if you'd like to write about it. Gotta run, but take care. Best, Lucky 6.9 23:47, 18 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]
I think you are confusing this article with another one. This one just appeared in the transwiki log the other day. Thanks. --ChrisRuvolo (t) 14:16, 19 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]
FYI, I have listed this page on Wikipedia:Votes for undeletion. --ChrisRuvolo (t) 15:39, 22 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

If you have the time I'd like you to take a look at the two users above. Horatio86 was added to WP:VIP for several cases of vandalism and, about two minutes after that, YumaKid showed up to stick up for him. I've posted {{sockpuppet}} at User:YumaKid with links to their contribs. Thanks! Soltak 00:21, 19 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

He's got another User:ViteroHoratio, Special:Contributions/ViteroHoratio

As an admin, can you run some kind of check to see if all of their IPs match? Soltak 19:49, 19 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Is there a place to post a request for a Bureaucrat to check the IPs or do you need to just ask one? (I don't personally know any) Soltak 19:55, 19 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for passing the names along! :-) Soltak 20:32, 19 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

""There's no specific policy against it, but it's generally considered uncool unless you have a good reason." From Wikipedia:Sock_puppet. The reason being that Soltak has taken what started as harmless and turned it into a personal crusade against me... I request, no demand that the tag be removed from my user page and that this harassment stop immediatly. If the harassment continues I will appeal to higher athority, the the founder himself if required. ViteroHoratio 20:31, 19 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I failed to notice that you deleted Timothy Bright in between when I loaded and edited the article to add the tag. Nice catch on your part, sorry about the extra work created. — Lomn | Talk 06:19:55, 2005-08-19 (UTC)

Maoririder?

So there I was, patrolling new pages, as I'm wont to do, and I spot an article about "Chief Michael Chitwood" (now at Michael Chitwood. Now, normally this wouldn't catch my notice, except that he's police chief for Portland, Maine, one of Maoririder's favorite subjects. I checked the edit history of User:130.111.105.203, the anon IP who submitted it, and have started tagging some articles for speedy deletion. This anon also evidently likes Arthur, so I would suggest strongly that it may in fact be Maoririder. --Scimitar parley 15:58, 19 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

  • See the talk on his RfC page for the latest. He's been creating sockpuppets... whether to get around your block or just generally to throw people off his trail, I'm not sure. -Satori 18:43, 19 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Congrats!

You finally made it! The admin that could! What a ridiculous ordeal it's been. I've no doubt you're up to the task.

By the way, I created List of countries by population (graphical), and someone listed it for deletion. It's been over a week, and I believe consensus is to keep the page, but I don't think I should be the one to close the discussion. You wanna break that new mop in? – Quadell (talk) (sleuth) 17:36, August 19, 2005 (UTC)

Bureaucrat IP Check

Hey, just wanted to let you know that bureaucrats can't check IP addresses, as at the moment I believe it's restricted to developers. A proposal has been made to allow us to do that, however. Thanks for passing my name on as "one of the best" though :D — Ilγαηερ (Tαlκ) 21:06, 19 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

More Maoririder?

Lucky, please take a look at User:4.160.207.175. The style, inclucding a faked stub tag, looks very very much like our friend. DES (talk) 02:45, 20 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Your buddy Wiki brah left me a note asking for some help; I've got quite a bit on my plate at the moment, trying to put together an RfAr, deal with my admin responsibilities, keep up with the watchlist, and fufill my real world obligations. I don't want to come off as rude or ignore him; since you're helping him out, could you look into what he needs and give him a hand? Thanks! -- Essjay · Talk 05:12, August 20, 2005 (UTC)

I think my Phil Collins article will not get deleted now people are voting for it. "Gibberish"

I think what you're deleting as gibberish is Chinese, according to what I see in the deleted articles. Not that it doesn't deserve to be deleted. But you might want to download Chinese and Japanese fonts so you an see this stuff. Zoe 05:34, August 21, 2005 (UTC)

Shrug. I undeleted it, but listed it on VfD. Zoe 05:54, August 21, 2005 (UTC)

Not a problem. Have a good night. Zoe 06:00, August 21, 2005 (UTC)

Ronald20

I think that you may have overreacted to Ronald's stub edits. If he had been adding more nonsense, like future death dates or saying that KDIS had changed formats—then whack him hard. Adding the stubs to large articles is just an annoyance and can quickly be cleaned up, even on a dialup account. One day is probably enough. BlankVerse 09:07, 21 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I added some explanation of the change to the length of the block time to his Talk page. I then added some categories to his User page based upon Wikipedia:User categorisation. I also added some HTML comments to the User page suggesting that he might add some Wikipedia:Babel templates if he also speaks Spanish. He did some editing to his User page after I created it during his last block, so it will be interesting to see this new change results in any response. BlankVerse 02:55, 22 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you

Yes good affternoon I appreciate that but please I'll have you know that's its the middel of Winter here!  ;) Obrigado Brah-sil!

Template:Vanity

Hi. I noticed a problem with Template:Vanity. You are supposed to be able to insert the name of the article into the template, and it appear in the message (you can see it where the {{{1}}} is in the the message. Would correcting this simply be a matter of creating a new template with the name of Article=article (and putting {{{Article}}} in place of {{{1}}}? I want to make sure that is what needs to happen before I screw something up. Wikipedianinthehouse 21:28, August 21, 2005 (UTC)

Thanks for your quick response. The editors of Talk pages TM weren't clear about its use. Fixed now, and others shouldn't have trouble with it. Wikipedianinthehouse

Question about user

User:200.34.142.98 has gotten Subst:test3 template on his/her talk page. The next logical step would be putting the last warning template (with the little hand/that says you will be blocked the next time you vandalise). He created the No More Monkey Business!! page again, and I wanted to put this "last warning" template on his talk page, but it is an empty threat since I cannot block him. Will you take care of? Isn't there a page to list users that need to be blocked (--though I don't think he is to that point yet--so I didn't want to add him to there.). He just needs the final warning put there by someone who can enforce it. Wikipedianinthehouse 23:04, August 21, 2005 (UTC)

Hi. Are you aware that band vanity articles, such as Cosmic cock, are not speedy deletion candidates, and must be VfD'ed? --Ryan Delaney talk 16:40, 22 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

No problem. I went to VfD it, but noticed it had been deleted. If you want te complete the process, that's cool. --Ryan Delaney talk 16:44, 22 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]
