Headquartered in Waltham, Massachusetts, NetCracker Technology Corporation provides Operations Support System (OSS) solutions to Communications Service Providers (CSPs) worldwide. NetCracker’s OSS solutions are used to deploy new services and infrastructure, reduce service delivery costs, manage Network and IT resources, and track telecom assets.
Since its founding in 1993, NetCracker has grown to over 1000 employees with offices around the world. NetCracker has a wide range of customers including Tier 1 wireline, mobile, and cable operators, Fortune 1000 companies, and large government organizations. These customers have used NetCracker’s solutions to deploy a range of infrastructure technologies such as IP, 3G, SONET/SDH, FTTx, xDSL, and xPON. The company’s innovative service delivery capabilities have enabled CSPs to deploy converged and rich-media services such as IPTV, WiMAX, and VoIP.
In June 2008, NEC announced a definitive agreement to acquire NetCracker Technology.[1]. On the closing of this transaction, NetCracker will operate as an independent business unit and will become the centerpiece of NEC’s Communications Service Provider software business.
