Smallville Appearance

The band is slated to appear in a 2008 episode of Smallville. I have no information on exactly which episode they will appear or what context but I do know for a stated fact that they will appear as we just finished filming them today in Vancouver BC --Venixer (talk) 06:56, 6 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

There are strong indications (from various CW released images) that the band will play in the seventh season episode 13 "Hero" which is due to air sometime in March 2008. [1] —Preceding unsigned comment added by Vortex8472 (talkcontribs) 19:15, 21 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Ryan Tedder

Should Ryan Tedder have his own article since he has a career in record producing? — AnemoneProjectors (会話) 00:53, 30 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I agree. I was thinking the same thing and was trying to figure out how to stop it from redirecting his link back to the OneRepublic page. Any help? JMlover 17:21, 18 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
If you want to start the article, just edit this page. — AnemoneProjectors (会話) 18:16, 18 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I started a short article, so it no longer redirects. Feel free to expand on it. — AnemoneProjectors (会話) 15:46, 19 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

official website

i put up a link to their official website :) Merlin5793 (talk) 22:04, 18 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fifth Single?

Before the album release, on their MySpace, there were five songs: "Apologize REMIX", "Apologize", "Stop & Stare", "Mercy" and I believe "Goodbye Apathy" was the fifth. Is it going to be a single or was it just on their page for no particular reason? I know, it's not their anymore, and neither is "Mercy", but I'm still confused. JazzlineB (talk) 16:40, 22 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

"Apologize" is written by Timberlake, not? - 165.21.154.9 (talk) 02:15, 6 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

As in Justin? anemoneprojectors 20:18, 6 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Cello player

Who is the cello player playing an electric cello with the band on Last Call with Carson Daly on December 5, 2007? Badagnani (talk) 07:04, 6 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Brent Kutzle. Badagnani (talk) 07:06, 6 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

He's also the bassist. JazzlineB (talk) 16:13, 16 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The cello is not an electric cello. Depending on what venue he plays in, it's either a wood cello or a carbon fiber cello(black) but both use a string pick up attachment. 1RDad —Preceding unsigned comment added by Mkutzle (talkcontribs) 20:33, 12 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Protect

This page should be protected, as people are adding nonconstructive content to it, so as in the members section, people are making up names and then putting them in the article. JazzlineB (talk) 16:13, 16 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Discography

I like the discography but the information is redundant, the album information should be integrated into the respective album or single pages, or the information below. Snowfreak91287 (talk) 04:11, 31 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Appearances

This section is hella jumbled. The entries aren't even in chronological order, and really ought to be divided up into TV appearances and album guest appearances - they aren't even close to being the same thing. 68.229.184.37 (talk) 06:26, 12 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I have removed this section. No other band articles that I've seen (at least featured articles and good articles) have such a section. Somno (talk) 02:28, 14 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Genre

Do not mistake the band for contemporary R&B for their popular attachment to Timbaland and 'Apologize'. Apologize isn't even R&B. It's been classified by Billboard as Adult Contemporary.

The band's genre is Alt-Rock or even Pop-rock but never R&B. The band integrates Hip Hop drum patterns in a couple of songs but that is not enough to make them R&B. UnkEdit (talk) 05:04, 29 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yet Apologize got some airplay on Rhytmic stations 68.89.165.19 (talk) 01:41, 4 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

They also got airplay on christian radio stations. Apologize isn't in the Christian genre either. :) UnkEdit (talk) 07:58, 4 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

They didn't, prove it to me 68.89.165.19 (talk) 21:13, 4 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You prove to me that apologize got airplay on rhythmic stations first. regardless, this is going nowhere. the band isn't R&B. apologize could be but the band definitely isnt. —Preceding unsigned comment added by UnkEdit (talkcontribs) 04:51, 7 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Critics

"They are a very polarizing band in terms of critics..."

I'm questioning that line. So far there are only like 2 album reviews that have rated them 2 out of 5 stars or lower (out of 13 reviews). [refer to 'Dreaming Out Loud' article]

So I'm changing it to "The band has generally gained favor from the critics" or something like that UnkEdit (talk) 15:33, 8 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Edit Summary 14 May 2008 [5:31]

Reverting to previous edits. -Although some of the edits CaptainAmazin maybe considered valid, it was obviously done maliciously. However valid some of those edits might be, they were not done in 'good faith'.

-Keane is fronted by Tom Chaplin, who, although is mainly the vocalist, also plays the keyboards [see his biography]. Which makes him a keyboardist nonetheless. he plays the keyboard in a significant number of their songs. He is as much of a keyboardist as he is a vocalist and a guitarist.

-Siting a school paper publication as a reference is basically equal to siting a personal blog as a reference. A music review by a teenager on an encyclopedic article, get what i mean?

-mega-hit, there is such a thing. look it up. UnkEdit (talk) 05:54, 14 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

-I can't see how your definition of 'good faith' could possibly be relevant when clearly the point is to maintain neutrality, which I am perfectly entitled, supposedly encouraged, to do. The current article is just plain POV without references in parts. If you have some sort of dispute with the edits I make, try so see why they were made in the first place before clicking 'undo'.

-Keane's keyboardist is Tim Rice-Oxley, he plays keyboard on just about every song, whereas Chaplin plays on only a handful, but sings on almost every song. See the distinction? Regardless, he is certainly more a vocalist than guitarist or keyboardist, it's misleading to imply that Keane are 'fronted by a keyboardist' in the same vein that Coldplay etc. are. The edit I wanted to make was to the phrasing of this section anyway. The way it is pure speculation. 'mostly because' needs to be changed, even if you're intent on stating that Keane are fronted by a keyboardist.

-I notice that there is already a school paper publication (BIOLA University) on the reference list. Shouldn't this be disregarded? —Preceding unsigned comment added by CaptainAmazin (talkcontribs) 10:59, 14 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Former band members

I noticed that somebody keeps removing the former band members section of the page, I haven't gone through all the edits so I'm not sure if it's always a user or an IP so I'm just addressing this generally. I'm not quite sure why it is being removed from the article as there is precedence for them being in the articles themselves (see Featured articles such as Alice in Chains and AC/DC). I know an edit summary stated that it's in the infobox but the purpose of the infobox is to quickly sum up the contents of the article itself, not be a substitute for content within the article. Since one of the concerns seems to be that putting the former members in the same section (though under a different heading) as the current is weird I propose that it is added to the article in a different format (see Aerosmith: Header= Band members, subheader 1=Current members, subheader 2=Former members) so it is more defined yet still has the former members within the article. Also a comment was made that there were like 5 other former members of the band, those should be included in the article as well. Discussion? --ImmortalGoddezz (t/c) 19:29, 29 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

guilty as charged, also with a few others. i like your idea. but i guarantee, it will be removed again, not by me but by um...someone else :D

there are around 5 other former band members, it's only tim myers that has a wiki page tho and has claimed to be in the band, (and a few other things too). The band has mentioned the number of former members they had but never their names. UnkEdit (talk) 07:18, 30 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

People who remove the info need to be warned and the info restored as there is really no reason to remove the information. The only acceptable reason to remove the information would be if the information isn't true, adding a citation to the information would help verify these claims. Also if the other former members can't be named then they don't need to be added. --ImmortalGoddezz (t/c) 14:38, 6 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

History

i think the Mainstream breakthrough: 2007—present part is already filling up.

their should be a separate section for touring. UnkEdit (talk) 11:56, 19 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
