Pulling an RSS feed

Continuing our discussion here: What I had in mind was to pull news from some website, say Google News, and update it on portals, such as Portal:Kerala. It's been lying unattended ever since I reduced my wiki activities. :( The bot would ideally have to pull the feed, separate the content, and update the information on the wiki page. Internode Systems under WikiProject Computing?

Hidden Categories & duplicate articles

Came across a few articles in the orphan list, which are not really orphan. eg. Birla Balika Vidyapeeth Can you please tell me how to remove the hidden category without opening the article in edit mode?

Came across separate articles for Kokkamangalam and Kokkothamangalam. I think both are about the same place. Noticed the same in Cheppad and Cheppaud. How are such errors set right?

Ok. Hidden cats are usually embedded in templates. They can be removed only by removing the template itself. Other cats are be easily removed/added/changed by enabling the "HotCat" feature from the gadgets section of your preferences.

If you encounter articles of the same thing, add {{merge}} tags to them. If you have time, you may merge the article to the most correct name and redirect the other one to it. Make sure you dont lose useful data in the redirected one.
