This is an overview of the current activity in the mathematical articles on Wikipedia. All entries in the table below, except for the top row, are generated automatically, which implies that they are unlikely to be fully complete and correct. Some explanations on the various entries can be found under the table.

Explanation

The first row of the table is where humans can add and delete items. The rest of the table is automatically generated by a script that runs daily.

Requested articles: Article requests listed on Wikipedia:Requested articles/mathematics, sorted by the approximate date that they were listed. Old entries are purged regularly (this also holds for the other rows in the table). If a name is struck through like this, then the article request was subsequently removed. The number at the end is the total number of articles requested on Wikipedia:Requested articles/mathematics.

Articles on AfD: Mathematical articles (as defined in the description of New articles) listed for deletion, together with a link to the corresponding subpage of Wikipedia:Articles for deletion where the discussion takes place.

Proposed for deletion: Mathematical articles (as defined in the description of New articles) proposed for deletion with the {{prod}} tag.

Featured articles: Mathematical articles (as defined in the description of New articles) appearing on Wikipedia:Featured article candidates, Wikipedia:Featured article review, Wikipedia:Peer review, Wikipedia:Scientific peer review, Wikipedia:Good article candidates, and Wikipedia:Good articles/Review, together with a link to the subpage where the discussion takes place. The entry is struck out if the discussion has been concluded.

New articles: New mathematical articles, where mathematical articles refers to the articles listed on List of mathematics articles (0-9), List of mathematics articles (A), List of mathematics articles (B), …, List of mathematics articles (Z), List of mathematics lists, or List of mathematicians. These lists are maintained by Mathbot, which is a script run by Oleg Alexandrov.

Needing verification: Mathematical articles (as defined in the description of New articles) listed in Category:Wikipedia articles needing factual verification. The templates {{cleanup-verify}} and {{not verified}} adds articles to this category. Articles that are subsequently removed are struck through.

Needing expert attention: Mathematical articles (as defined in the description of New articles) listed in Category:Articles needing expert attention or one of its subcategories. The templates {{expert}} and {{technical (expert)}} adds articles to this category.

Needing attention: Articles listed on Wikipedia:Pages needing attention/Mathematics plus mathematical articles (as defined in the description of New articles) listed in Category:Pages needing attention. The template {{attention}} adds articles to this category.

Needing wikification: Mathematical articles (as defined in the description of New articles) listed in Category:Articles that need to be wikified or one of its subcategories. The template {{wikify}} adds articles to this category.

Needing context: Mathematical articles (as defined in the description of New articles) listed in Category:Wikipedia articles needing context or one of its subcategories. The templates {{context}} and {{cleanup-context}} adds articles to this category.

Requested images: Articles listed in the Mathematics section of Wikipedia:Requested pictures plus mathematical articles (as defined in the description of New articles) in Category:Wikipedia requested images or a subcategory.

Too technical: Mathematical articles (as defined in the description of New articles) listed in Category:Wikipedia articles that are too technical or one of its subcategories. The templates {{technical}} and {{technical (expert)}} adds articles to this category.

Needing clean-up: Mathematical articles (as defined in the description of New articles) listed in Category:Wikipedia cleanup or Category:Cleanup by month or one of the subcategories of the latter. The templates {{cleanup}}, {{cleanup-date}} and {{cleanup-remainder}} adds articles to one of these categories.

Removed articles: Articles that are removed from the lists mentioned under new articles; this can happen for instance if the article is deleted, or if the article is moved, or if it is decided that the article is not really about mathematics.

Technical details

The script updating the table runs every night from 2:17 British time. It is written in Python and makes use of the pywikipedia library.

The script uses comments like <!--jngoim:requested--> in the wikisource to decide where to put its output. This means that the layout of the page can easily be changed by editing the page.
