Jalopnik Repeating Paragraph

The introductory paragraph is repeated word by word under "Frequent memes" section; I tried to delete it, but instead received a vandalism warning. Just letting you know. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.232.19.21 (talk) 16:51, 12 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks

...for cleaning up my talk page. That was a funny one - his whole WP career lasted less than 10 minutes, seems hardly worth setting up an account for. Regards, JohnCD (talk) 19:02, 12 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

And thanks for your humorous biography.--Levalley (talk) 22:16, 16 March 2009 (UTC)LeValley[reply]

Double thanks.  :)

You just have to laugh at the little middle schoolers who have only recently discovered the joys of typing filthy words on a computer.  :) Thanks for the reversion. Regards, --PMDrive1061 (talk) 23:31, 12 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I am sorry man! But I stand for my beliefs. I am sorry if you were hurt. Please accept my apologies! —Preceding unsigned comment added by Non believer evolution (talkcontribs) 09:09, 14 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop erasing my writings! If you don't want me to write it again tell me how to make a wikipedia page. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Non believer evolution (talkcontribs) 09:11, 14 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

You may read Wikipedia:Your first article. Cheers, ZooFari 18:20, 15 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Put my stuff back

What Mike Smith predicted is probably going to be true so retype it.

"is probably going to be true" assumes that it is based on your inferences. Sorry, but that isn't allowed here. ZooFari 18:18, 15 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I thought it says that wikipedia doesn't have an editing department for articles? If you're going to have profiles in here about government leaders then please post all pertinent facts about them, not just the nice rosy bio's of some of these criminals, thanks —Preceding unsigned comment added by Leprechaun63 (talkcontribs) 18:51, 15 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Non-free images

Hi Bongwarrior, thanks for pointing the nonfree image guideline out to me. I can't believe I missed that - Will notify the IP. - Fastily (talk) 05:54, 16 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

What The Deuce?

I wasn't even done yet. You stop a brother in his tracks before he gets his feet on the ground. Not cool man. I'm appalled.

Guess you miss out on the picture then....chump.

Yeah I called you a chump.

Or did I?

Food for thought....chump...

ChumpyMcChump....with a side of chump. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Niggus (talkcontribs) 06:23, 16 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Help, please

I just got an email from the Volapük Wikipedia (vo.wikipedia.org). The problem is, the entire email is in Volapük (some weird kinda German but not lauguage, I didn't know exsisted). It also seems I have an account at the Volapük Wikipedia (never signed up for one). Is there anyway you or someone you know could translate this for me and figure out how I have an account on a Wiki I didn't know exsisted until just now?

I have the global account dealie (kudos for the Homer Simpsons reference :)), so I have accounts on Meta, Commons, stuff like that. I didn't know it made accounts for all the Wikis. - NeutralHomerTalk • March 16, 2009 @ 07:06
Re. above, quite a few people have had the email; I've made notes in User:Chzz/vo. --  Chzz  ►  09:50, 16 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Cool, thanks, interesting stuff. --Bongwarrior (talk) 09:53, 16 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks

Hi. Thanks for the vandal cleanup on both my userpage and talk page! Taroaldo (talk) 07:39, 16 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

No problem at all, it took about two clicks :) --Bongwarrior (talk) 09:54, 16 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you.

Thanks for reverting my fanmail 1. As well as the vandalism on my page. I was far to busy blushing to do anything about it, anyway, thanks a lot, keep up the great work, all the best SpitfireTally-ho! 10:27, 16 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

No problem. Whatever that was all about, they're both blocked. --Bongwarrior (talk) 10:28, 16 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

About redirects...

Hi there! Looks like I need a lesson in redirection policy then, right? [1] IMHO it's a bad thing to just redirect lots of pages without merging the content to the targets. For the majority of Wikipedia users it will be the same as page-blanking - the content is gone and they don't know how to find it, if they even look for it. This very special users is doing this for months and he knows that it's highly controversial. He's been told and hes been warned. What to do then? --Avant-garde a clue-hexaChord2 18:55, 16 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

You're right that it's a bad thing, but they weren't being redirected just for the hell of it–the user provided his reasoning in their edit summaries, most of the articles were completely unsourced, and most of them did end up as redirects anyway after an AfD discussion. I feel your pain, but blocking would be the wrong call in this situation, and I don't think the templated warnings helped. If you like, I can politely ask them to discuss any future redirects first, out of respect to their fellow editors. If you don't think that's sufficient, maybe a thread on WP:ANI is the way to go. Sorry I can't be more help than that, but I don't think anything further is required at this point. Take care. --Bongwarrior (talk) 19:47, 16 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I've started a thread at ANI but the answer is even worse than yours. In their eyes it's ok to blank pages. Wow, ok then. I guess that's the nail of my coffin. This whole project is only a shadow of its former self and much too disturbing for me to stay... --Avant-garde a clue-hexaChord2 19:56, 16 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Animal Farm

Thanks for the revert. That must be the most vandalised page I watch on here. SimonTrew (talk) 00:10, 17 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, it does seem to receive its share. Always happy to help, great book. --Bongwarrior (talk) 00:12, 17 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah not a bad article either I think. I guess because it is required reading for so many teenagers they visit the page and then turn into Beavis or Butthead. SimonTrew (talk) 00:16, 17 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

vandal patrol

Did ya ever notice that vandal patrol is kind of like that "Whack a Mole" game? They just keep popping back up...sigh...Wuhwuzdat (talk) 18:37, 17 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, but it makes me appear useful, so I can't really complain :) --Bongwarrior (talk) 18:39, 17 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Recent Vandalism/Abuse

Yeah, J.delanoy + I have been getting hit pretty hard recently. It all started with this Grawp page move, and then the flood of IP's + even Fang show's up and does a couple of his own. Versus22 talk 19:51, 17 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Class for birds

All your bird articles have class Aves and this is not true. I am not inserting incorrect information, but birds have been scientifically identified as reptiles and are now in Class Reptilia.

It's my (limited) understanding that Reptilia excludes birds and mammals, although you may want to confirm that with someone smarter than me. --Bongwarrior (talk) 08:32, 18 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I actually change my mind about the protection. Can you unprotect it? Thanks! Versus22 talk 19:59, 18 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

No problem, done. --Bongwarrior (talk) 20:03, 18 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Gregory Paul Baily

Ohai! You deleted my article...which I expected..but I must know, why? I worked hard on it, and it met all of the criteria, and yet, you deleted it. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Darth Veckin (talkcontribs) 04:52, 21 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Yankees10

Really?? That's kind of ironic since he told me I couldn't do that. The same to JustSomeRandomGuy.(Planecrash111 (talk) 14:20, 21 March 2009 (UTC))[reply]

If they told you that you can't remove messages from your talk page, then they are incorrect also. --Bongwarrior (talk) 00:42, 22 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Alexis Bledel

We seem to have a serial vandal at work, and he uses more than one IP. He's been at this before. Can you - being an admin - fix semi protection for the page? -Duribald (talk) 11:46, 22 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I was tempted to protect it earlier, but I'd rather hold out just a little longer. The article is otherwise fairly vandal-free, and I don't want to ruin it for the good IPs unless I have to. If it continues, I'll have no choice, so we'll see. --Bongwarrior (talk) 12:02, 22 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
