== Other Types Of Gunbelts. ==

Maybe some people don’t '''''CARE''''' about police gunbelt’s. Maybe some people are interested in other types of gunbelts. Maybe assuming that Police-style gunbelts are the only type of gunbelts wastes their time looking at material that '''''ISN’T''''' what they wanted to know about.

Oops, my bad, asking anyone to '''''THINK'''''.

Tinkering

Sorry Dep, I was tinkering with it myself. All yours again! SGGH speak! 15:24, 1 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I dont mind, no-one owns the article. Maybe Jimmy does but i dont know! =] Dep. Garcia ( Talk + | Help Desk | Complaints ) 15:34, 1 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I think he would disagree SGGH speak! 17:27, 1 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Just to continue on the subject of tinkering, what items do you think we should include as equipment that is carried on the duty belt? Here's my list: Baton Holders, Spray Carriers, Flashlight Holders, Glove/PPE Pouches, Handcuff Cases, Key Holders, Magazine Pouches, Radio & Pager Holders, Firearm holder, Taser holder, and a Knife/Multitool holder. Probably you'd want to shorten that list a bit...

Ive done the baton holder and key holder sections, but you may need to expand or copyedit them a little! Dep. Garcia ( Talk + | Help Desk | Complaints ) 16:18, 4 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Phew

OK, I've done all I can manage for the night. Please feel free to change and delete my edits as you see fit. --Chachu207 ::: Talk to me 21:19, 3 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Wow, looking good, May i ask what profession you are in? Dep. Garcia ( Talk + | Help Desk | Complaints ) 14:46, 4 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Well, I'd be a student! Also a corporal in the ACF, which is where I gain my knowledge from mainly. --Chachu207 ::: Talk to me 16:11, 4 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Ahh yes the Army Cadet Force, so you looking to join the army, eh? Dep. Garcia ( Talk + | Help Desk | Complaints ) 16:15, 4 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Hopefully! Get my GCSE's and A Levels, go to university, and then officer entry into an undecided regiment... Or be a copper! --Chachu207 ::: Talk to me 18:55, 4 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Whichever u feel best, although i think you may make a great officer in the army or the police! =] Dep. Garcia ( Talk + | Help Desk | Complaints ) 18:59, 4 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Why thank you Dep! --Chachu207 ::: Talk to me 21:36, 4 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
A few more refences and it will be B class Dep, then good article will surely follow! SGGH speak! 14:54, 4 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Yea, im very proud of all the people who have contributed, I have even learned a few facts i didn't know, and i thought i knew everything about a duty belt! Dep. Garcia ( Talk + | Help Desk | Complaints ) 15:04, 4 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The line "The usual equipment which is carried on the belt for an armed officer is; a handgun in a holster, Ammunition, handcuffs, TASER, baton and a rescue knife. Duty belts often carry more than 20 lbs (9.1 kg) of equipment.[3]" contradicts as well as duplicates the lead intro paragraph.... SGGH speak! 21:34, 4 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I have removed this section and added were it says about the duty belts weighing 20 lbs, to the lead intro with the ref! Dep. Garcia ( Talk + | Help Desk | Complaints ) 18:59, 5 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Xthellent SGGH speak! 20:59, 5 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

All these belt suspenders, belt clips and so on, can you take a picture of such a thing Dep? I would help you out but I don't have a uniform quite yet... SGGH speak! 21:03, 5 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I'll see if I can get a camera, and take some photos of my kit, but if Dep tries too, then there's twice as much a chance of getting some pics on! --Chachu207 talk to me 22:12, 6 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Yea i'll take some photos but i dont have belt suspenders, but ill take a couple of photos and upload them =] Dep. Garcia ( Talk + | Help Desk | Complaints ) 16:06, 7 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

UK Centric Equipment...

I understand that most of the WikiProject LE folks are Special Constables in the UK. I'm not sure if UK folks have to carry first aid equipment on their rigs (Uniform Equipment Belt, Police Equipment Belt, or simply Duty Rig), but in the US, its not common. Gloves are, of course, but not anything past gloves. What about agencies in other countries?— Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.44.55.49 (talkcontribs)

I'm a full time officer with the GMP, I do carry a first aid pouch on my duty belt which contains CPR mask, gloves, and antiseptic wipes and other stuff. Because police officers are one of the first responders on the scene of an accident they may be able to provide assistance until the ambulance arrives! Regards Dep. Garcia ( Talk + | Help Desk | Complaints ) 08:34, 23 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Actually I think I am the only special constable in WP:LE! We do carry first aid kit but it's force specific, not everyone does it depends what you are doing for that day. We are all first aid trained though. SGGH speak! 11:14, 23 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Manufacturers

I'm not sure manufacturers need mention in the intro, but it's officially "Uncle Mike's Law Enforcement", which is a division of Michaels of Oregon. [1] The company also makes hunting gear. I'm also not sure the companies need to be wikilinked. Only need to be if we think there should be Wikipedia articles on the companies. --Aude (talk) 19:41, 24 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
