Template Thessaloniki

Hi, in August you changed the {{Thessaloniki}} template from a navigation bar for municipalities and communities in the Thessaloniki prefecture to a list of landmarks, education etc. in the city of Thessaloniki. Since it wasn't meant as such, and isn't used as such (it's still only included in articles about municipalities), I'm reverting your edits. If you think a template for landmarks etc. of Thessaloniki is useful, you should create a new template, and add it to relevant articles. Markussep Talk 19:38, 6 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Re: "Are you sure that this is important?" @ Olymbias

Yes, I do think it's important. Olymbias (Rakita) used to be a purely Bulgarian village before the Balkan Wars. A 1878 source has the population as 200 Bulgarians and 30 Muslims, Vasil Kanchov lists 700 Bulgarians in 1900, a Greek source from 1904 lists 500 Bulgarian "schismatics" (Exarchists), the Exarchate itself reports of 960 Bulgarian Exarchists in the village in 1906. A Greek school report from 1941 says Olymbias is inhabited by 125 Bulgarian-speaking families and 25 Greek refugee families. Clearly, this is some notable history, like it or not. Lt Roussen

Hello! I was also intrigued by Lt Roussen (esp. his very unusual name, I suspect a Bavarian descent), so I made a quick search and found some info, and presto! Cheers, Constantine 10:28, 29 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Category:Greece city templates, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Category:Greece city templates has been empty for at least four days, and its only content has been links to parent categories. (CSD C1).

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Category:Greece city templates, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. Γεια σου φίλε

Unfortunately your speaking on assumptions. I would suggest to you to give sources. See my talk, where I have brought even Lord Byron`s testimony about their ethnicity.Balkanian`s word (talk) 16:25, 26 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I love google translator

Of course not! I wrote: Thanks God, that somebody came here (which in Albanian jargon is the same as slave and I was referring to Aigest) and the rest is totally different.Balkanian`s word (talk) 20:45, 26 March 2009 (UTC) Hahaha that translation was soooo funny:) thank you Kapnisma;) Actually BW's is a little bit wrong because the direct meaning of Alb. rob is captive (ex rob lufte = POW), (in Albanian jargon rob = somebody and anyway BW's was refering to me and I confirm his version) and is remotely connenceted with slave. The albanian word for slave is Skllav. Thank you once more for the translation, I will keep in mind to make use of google when I'll need some humour :) Aigest (talk) 08:30, 27 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

  • All editors on Macedonia-related articles are directed to get the advice of neutral parties via means such as outside opinions and Geopolitical ethnic and religious conflicts noticeboard (WP:ECCN), especially since there are significant problems in reaching consensus.
  • All articles related to Macedonia (defined as any article that could be reasonably construed as being related to Macedonia, Macedonia nationalism, Greece related articles that mention Macedonia, and other articles in which how Macedonia will be referred to is an issue) fall under 1RR whenever the dispute over naming is concerned. Editors enforcing a case where a binding Stalemate resolution has been found are exempt from 1RR.
  • The following users have been banned from Wikipedia : Avg (talk · contribs)one year, ΚΕΚΡΩΨ (talk · contribs)one year, and Reaper7 (talk · contribs)six months .
  • The following users have been topic-banned from Macedonia-related articles and their talk pages, as defined in All related articles under 1RR: Avg (talk · contribs)indefinitely, ΚΕΚΡΩΨ (talk · contribs)indefinitely, Reaper7 (talk · contribs)one year and, SQRT5P1D2 (talk · contribs)one year.
  • The Committee takes note that ChrisO (talk · contribs) has resigned his administrator status while this case was pending, but also notes that he is desysopped as a result of the above case. ChrisO may obtain the tools back via the usual means or by request to the Arbitration Committee.
  • Future Perfect at Sunrise (talk · contribs · blocks · protections · deletions · page moves · rights · RfA) is strongly admonished for displaying a long pattern of incivil, rude, offensive, and insulting behavior towards other editors and failure to address the community's concerns in this regard. Because of this Future Perfect at Sunrise is subject to an editing restriction for one year, and is desysopped for three months as a consequence of poor user conduct and misuse of administrative tools. After three months, his administrator access will be automatically restored.
  • Single-purpose accounts are strongly advised to edit in accordance with WP:SPA and other Wikipedia policies. Diversifying one's topics of interest is also encouraged.
  • Abuse filter 119, as currently configured, logs all changes involving the word "Macedonia" but does not block any edits. The community is strongly advised to consider adding a new abuse filter criterion; any instances of changing the word "Macedonia" to "FYROM" (the five-letter acronym, not the full phrase) shall be prevented.
  • Within seven days of the closure of this case, a discussion is to be opened to consider the preferred current and historical names for the four entities known as Macedonia. The discussion will end one month after it is opened.

Thank you for experimenting with Wikipedia. Your test worked, and the page that you created has been or soon will be deleted. Please use the sandbox for any other tests you want to do. Take a look at the welcome page if you would like to learn more about contributing to our encyclopedia.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you.
