Downtown Music Publishing is home to a wonderfully eclectic roster of songwriters and writer/artists including Nikki Sixx of Mötley Crüe fame, British Writer/Producer Trevor Horn, Afro-beat legend Femi Kuti and the critically acclaimed songwriter, artist, and actor Mos Def. Award winning songs in the Downtown catalog have been recorded by some of the world’s most well-known artists including Aretha Franklin, Black Eyed Peas, Celine Dion, Grace Jones, Hall & Oates, The Isley Brothers, Jay-Z, Mariah Carey, Michael Jackson, Miley Cyrus, Seal, Tina Turner and Yes.

Downtown’s dedicated licensing administration team offers a complete line of publishing and rights management solutions for leading independent film production companies, digital media outlets, selected boutique publishers and other copyright owners. The Company’s global marketing team boasts senior executives with a broad range of backgrounds in music supervision, label A&R, producer management, domestic and international music publishing, and performing rights.


Partnerships

Downtown Music Publishing also has strategic ventures in place with several independent record companies including Dim Mak Records, Fool's Gold Records, Eleven Seven Music, Cooking Vinyl, Mad Decent, and Turn Up The Music. In addition, Downtown Music Publishing is the exclusive publishing administrator for RCRD LBL, an online singles label in a blog format founded by Downtown Records and Peter Rojas.


In July 2008, Downtown Music Publishing and The Film Department (TFD) announced the formation of a new film music company and partnership, TFD Music. Through the partnership, Downtown Music Publishing will serve as the exclusive worldwide administrator for the TFD Music copyrights and master recordings, and offer music supervision and soundtrack consulting services for motion pictures. In July 2009, '"Downtown Music Publishing"' became the exclusive sub-publisher in North America for UK-based independent record label Cooking Vinyl, and licensing group Downtown Music Services now represents the Cooking Vinyl master catalog for sync.

In 2008, Downtown Music Publishing received the following ASCAP Awards for "This Is Why I'm Hot" from the Mims album Music Is My Savior:
