::: How very interesting. The Victorian government is apparently trying to hide its gross mismanagement of the facility. The Age newspaper in Melbourne has been running a series of exposure articles after the director of the AS was dismissed by the (non scientist) board of directors without explanation or due process. Both the Victorian State government and the AS board have repeatedly refused to comment, leading to the international group of scientific advisors of the AS to threaten to resign en mass. Indeed, the workforce at the AS are now working to rule (9 to 5, thus scuppering many experiments) and will not repair any faults should they occur. The situation is totally farcical. No wonder the Board and the government keep removing any reference to the fiasco. The AS board apparently know little or nothing about synchrotron radiation, all being business types and certainly have no concept of how to deal with academics. The AS board needs to fired, but it is a political minefield for the Brumby government. The Federal government is apparently considering taking over the facility. What a farce! BTW I will watch this page and immediately replace this information every time the government tries to cover it up.More here: [http://www.theage.com.au/national/synchrotron-board-mute-on-crisis-20091121-is7s.html] and here: [http://www.theage.com.au/national/scientists-rebellion-to-cripple-synchrotron-beam-20091128-jy0h.html]--[[User:Phil Wardle|Phil Wardle]] ([[User talk:Phil Wardle|talk]]) 01:39, 29 November 2009 (UTC)

3 GeV

Could somebody please explain in the article what "3 GeV" means? Corvus cornix 17:32, 31 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You're on an encyclopedia. ;-) I looked it up and instantly got an answer. Therequiembellishere 23:39, 31 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Then you're a better person than I am, obviously since we have no article at 3 GeV. Corvus cornix 23:41, 31 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Perhaps if we were to look up GeV? --The Chairman (talk · contribs) 14:35, 1 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you. Wish I had thought of that.  :) Corvus cornix 18:29, 1 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Haha, no worries. --The Chairman (talk · contribs) 07:33, 3 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
