Etymology and relationship with "a striga"

Actually, the root word was Latin "striga" (aka "strix"), from which was derived the word "strigă" in Romanian, meaning "female witch" or "Barn Owl". From this were derived both "a striga" (to yell) and "strigoi" ("strigă" + masculine suffix "-oi"). bogdan | ^Talk 20:03, 6 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Saint Ignatius

As this is a Romanian/Albanian/Slavic myth, I assume it's Saint Ignatius of Antioch, whose feast day is December 20. A citation will be needed, and I don't want to put it in Wiki just yet. If one needs to be killed, I wouldn't want to be the one responsible for a fatal mistake.
