==WPS redirects here, unappropiate==

The page WiFi Positioning System redirects to here (a commercial company). WPS is a technology proposed some years ago, and being used by SkyHook Wireless. I would suggest to use the page of WPS for the WPS technology itself, and not as a redirector to here :)[[User:Kikoso|Kikoso]] ([[User talk:Kikoso|talk]]) 18:45, 7 September 2010 (UTC)

WikiProject Companies To-do:

Here are some tasks awaiting attention:

Introduction

The intro seems a bit like an ad from their site... doesn't seem too impartial. I mean it's some pretty cool technology, but surely it only works if you are within range of a wireless network on their database. And even then, 20-30m, what if there is only one network around with a range greater than 20-30m? - Jatoo (talk) 12:22, 2 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I agree, and that intro was added by an ip that belongs to Skyhook. So I'm gonna rephrase it as a claim made by Skyhook. --Ericje (talk) 21:44, 29 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Software removal

It should probably be noted somehow that without a real working knowledge of computers and how they run, once installed Skyhook is nearly impossible to remove from your machine. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 138.74.190.33 (talk)

WTF

how can you find the geographic location based on the MAC adress? It makes no sense. Maybe based on the ip adress, but still--66.75.208.186 (talk) 01:00, 28 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

from an article on today's MSNBC.com, they apparently drive trucks around that have computers running GPS-enabled Netstumbler (or some similar technology). 198.24.6.134 (talk) 22:58, 2 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Adding to articles

If you are going to add to things please do not post your "new" information above others for the sole purpose of getting more people to go to your site. If you are correcting or updating information do so. If you are Adding it goes after the information already there.
