Richard Downes never worked for Reuters. I also doubt he ever worked for the Press Association. He spent some time as a 'rip-and-read' at London Broadcasting Co (LBC), under Douglas Moffatt. He was never an alcohol-free zone. Was known as 'Dipsy Downes' at FT-TV. This Wiki biog,
as stands ( @Sept 20 2010), is at least questionable. IMO.
