As far as Cancellara sounding Italian, it's a region in Italy, so it's an Italian name. His parents also came from Italy to Swiss. Just saying. |

Italian passport?
I removed the mention of an italian passport because I couldn't confirm it via a simple google search - it needs a reference of some sort. Also, holding dual passports doesn't make him Swiss-Italian - fore example Roberto Carlos isn't a Brazilian-Spanish footballer because he has two passports? Poulsen 14:08, 11 April 2006 (UTC)
- He is a Swiss Italian though; it doesn't mean he holds a passport from Italy. It is typical in Switzerland to make a description as Swiss French, Swiss German, etc. for the four language groups. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 192.45.72.26 (talk) 21:29, July 10, 2007
- But in what sense is he a "Swiss Italian"? I agree his surname sounds Italian, but he was born in a German-speaking area, and his website is in German. Has he ever described himself as "Swiss Italian"?David Peacham 17:34, 13 July 2007 (UTC)

Profile Picture
Perhaps his photo in the left side profile should be changed to either him in the rainbow jersey or CSC jersey?--ĞavinŤing 13:49, 14 July 2007 (UTC)
Switzerland, Europe??
I do not think there is a need to mention Europe after Switzerland (see under Early Years, first sentence). Name of the country should have been enough.Serialno9 (talk) 16:14, 3 August 2009
Controversy
The current wording is not clear enough; it might suggest that either Cassani or italian TV coverage indicated Cancellara using a hidden electric motor in his bike, which is not true at all. ([[User la.margna]) 14:49, 16 August 2010 (UTC)
