Masoud Mir Kazemi (مسعود میرکاظمی in Persian) is currently the Minister of Petroleum of Iran[1], replacing Gholamhossein Nozari after President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad was re-elected.[2] Kazemi had previously headed Shahed University and headed Iran's Ministry of Commerce.[2] Kazemi has discussed the possibility of making neighbouring Iraq a major gas export market, citing the destruction of Iraq's energy infrastructure as a result of the 2003 invasion of Iraq.[3]

On 14 October 2010, Mir Kazemi elected as Secretary-General of OPEC, became the second Iranian person that became Secretary-General after Fuad Rouhani.
