Manchester Regional High School is a comprehensive, four-year public high school and regional school district serving students in grades 9 - 12 from three communities in Passaic County, New Jersey, United States. The school serves students from Haledon, North Haledon, and Prospect Park.[2]

The district participates in the Interdistrict Public School Choice Program, having been approved in July 2003 to participate in the program.[3] Seats in the program for non-resident students are specified by the district and are allocated by lottery, with tuition paid for participating students by the New Jersey Department of Education.[4]

As of the 2007-08 school year, the district's one schools had an enrollment of 775 students and 63.3 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 12.2.[1]

The school was awarded a Bronze Medal in US News & World Report's 2009-2010 "Best American High Schools" issue, distinguishing it from the pack by being one of only two Passaic County, NJ, high schools mentioned[5]. Only 1,750 high schools out of 21,786 public high schools were recognized.[6][7]

The school was the 227th-ranked public high school in New Jersey out of 316 schools statewide, in New Jersey Monthly magazine's September 2008 cover story on the state's Top Public High Schools. The school was ranked 218th in the magazine's September 2006 issue, which surveyed 316 schools across the state.[8]

The school's mean SAT scores for 2008-09 school year were verbal 428, writing 428 and mathematics 459. [9] The NJ state average of SAT scores for the 2008-09 year were verbal 494, writing 494 and mathematics 515.[10]

The district participates in the Interdistrict Public School Choice Program, which allows non-resident students to attend the district's schools without cost to their parents, with tuition paid by the state. Available lots are announced annually by grade.[11]

The district is classified by the New Jersey Department of Education as being in District Factor Group "B", the second lowest of eight groupings. District Factor Groups organize districts statewide to allow comparison by common socioeconomic characteristics of the local districts. From lowest socioeconomic status to highest, the categories are A, B, CD, DE, FG, GH, I and J.[12]

MRHS was featured as the school in the independent film, Twelve and Holding.[13]
