SNSM (Serbian Cyrillic: Српска напредна странка у Македонији; СНСМ),(Macedonian Cyrillic: Српска напредна странка во Македонија; СНСМ) is a legally recognized and conclusive to 2010, an active political subject in the Republic of Macedonia (platform and program work, public prominence of leadership and party in general, some of it reflected in the media), which has a basic conservative-libertarian political platform, the core base of its way of action, which is, given the specifics of its geographic setting and local idiosyncrasies , modified both by ad hoc wide-umbrella approach in cooperation with political and other subjects of various ideological principles, platforms and programs. SNSM shares a variety of contacts with Serbian and other NGO in Republic of Macedonia, Republic of Serbia, Montenegro, Republic of Srpska and elsewhere and with the core party, Republic of Serbia-centered SNS, although from the legal aspects which applies in local jurisdiction, it is a separate and independent political subject, subject to the Constitution and legislative of the Republic of Macedonia.

SNSM (commonly referred colloquially only by the acronym “SNS”/“СНС”) also puts strong premium on specifics of both chronic and acute problems of reestablishing and fortification of Serbdom (individual consciousness of oneself as an ethic Serb, in community of other Serbs) as hitherto marginalized ethnic identity by means of preservation of local Serbian heritage and tradition, emphasizing the multi-ethnic character of the Republic of Macedonia, advancement of organizational and materialized forms of aid to revival of Serbian academic studies, sustaining of the Serbian language and Serbian literacy as well as aiming to higher representation of Serbian pupils in Republic of Macedonia's schooling system. To this, the practical issues of economic, infrastructural and technical problems facing Serbian community in Republic of Macedonia, with regard to local and municipal material development as well as at the level of the country in general are further goals.

Sharing of the current platform of SNSM with the same-named, previously established political party centered in the Republic of Serbia, as well as the core of elaborated principles (ethnic conservatism, traditional values, minarchism, individualism as the primary principle as opposed to collectivist nationalism of any variety) , SNSM seldom exposes calls for state-level libertarian economic reform due to disparity based on maximum variety of voters estimated as possible. This is likely a result of discrepancy between the policies of the two long-time parties representing by far mostly people of the so-called “Macedonian block” VMRO-DPMNE and SDSM's regarding their economical models, both of them being based on elaborate, administration and budged-payed experts government system and wealth distribution as a means of enforcing social policy (“national rebirth ('Prerodba')” and “social justice”, respectively), thus having decisive role in setting Republic of Macedonia economical policy once having obtained a mandate.

SNSM is de facto distanced from relationships with VMRO-DPMNE, the currently (2006- ) ruling populist demo-christian party that promotes 'macedonian nationalism' with certain specifics, which includes historical revisionism.

Although it participated in the election for the unicameral Parliament of the Republic of Macedonia (“Sobranie”) of Republic of Macedonia in 2008, SNSM failed to gain any of the 120 seats in the Parliament. However, it has a number of elected local deputies and carriers of public offices on municipal level, in Kumanovo and the region of Skopska Crna Gora.

The Serbian Progressive Party in Macedonia articulates itself on the entire territory of Republic of Macedonia, but popular support exists and enlisted membership mostly from the northern part of the Country, primarily Kumanovo, city of Skopje with emphasis on Skopska Crna Gora region and to a demographically lesser extent in the towns of Tetovo, Veles, Poreč area etc.
