Dandenong Plaza is a major-regional shopping centre located in the heart of Dandenong built adjoining Myer Dandenong in 1989. It is approximately 30 kilometres south-east of the Melbourne CBD. The centre has two large food courts (one outside Target on level 1 and another outside Reading Cinemas on level 2). Level 3 has a large Fresh Food Hall outside Coles supermarket. Dandenong Plaza is in close proximity to the Dandenong Market and also Dandenong Hub.[1]
Stores
- Myer Department Store (2 levels)[3] — recently refurbished, with many measures to reduce the instance of shoplifting.
- Target Discount department store
- Kmart Discount department store
- Coles Supermarket
- Woolworths Supermarket (currently trading as Safeway)
- Dick Smith Electronics
- Reading Cinemas 6 screen cinema (formerly Village Cinemas (10 screens) which closed in 2008).
Transport
Dandenong Plaza is easily accessible by bus, with a stop on level 2 on McCrae Street. It is also a 10 minute walk from Dandenong railway station but a courtesy bus runs between the station and the centre every 30 minutes (on the quarter hour), Monday to Saturday.
