Fair use rationale for Image:Gnmfestival.JPG

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Gnmfestival.JPG. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Rettetast 12:54, 21 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Image copyright problem with Image:Tangiwai2b.jpg

Image Copyright problem
Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading Image:Tangiwai2b.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Jusjih 04:10, 9 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Paul, I've tagged your image with {{gfdl-self}} because I'm fairly sure you meant it to be released under either that or as public domain when you uploaded it. Please change the tag to {{pd-self}} if that's more appropriate, or let me know if I've made a mistake.-gadfium 04:24, 9 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

basically YES.. of course all images I have uploaded to wikipedia i have believed to be fit for the purpose, most of them are my original work of course. so thanks and i'm really glad you did that while i was away.. there are a couple of others i'm catchin up with now... a certain two headed two faced taniwha that doesnt want to get acknowledged as existing in any real way.. maybe i should give up that quest...

Knife

Sorry you feel like that, but looking at the above, for an experienced user, you seem to be fairly cavalier about following any of the Wikipedia guidelines. Jimfbleak (talk) 06:47, 30 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:MountainRock3TshirtFront.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:MountainRock3TshirtFront.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Image:Kiwicountry.JPG

I have tagged Image:Kiwicountry.JPG as {{no rationale}}, because it does not provide a fair use rationale. If you believe the image to be acceptable for fair use according to Wikipedia policy, please provide a rationale explaining as much, in accordance with the fair use rationale guideline, on the image description page. Some examples can be found at Wikipedia:Use rationale examples. Please also consider using {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags/Non-free. Thank you. Flight X-7

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Flight X-7, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you agree with the deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please add {{db-author}} to the top of Flight X-7. Fair use rationale for Image:TaniwharauEmblem.jpg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:TaniwharauEmblem.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

Notable or Not?

Would having my image printed in those two magazines in April constitute notability as a photographer, when the issues go on sale with my deatils in the accreditation? (its a HALF page pic in Sky and Telescope illustrating an article written by Mike Simmons, co-chair of 100 Hours of Astronomy, an IYA2009 cornerstone project..)

There has NEVER been any instant in time where this user was represented to be different to the PERSON this user represents. One and the same person. This user is my historical user that I started with, and used to give massive IP to this project, up to the point where I chose to create a user with my real name, to display transparency here in this space. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Paul Moss (talkcontribs) 03:16, 14 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
