Marvin Chávez (born November 3, 1983 in La Ceiba) is a Honduran footballer who currently plays for FC Dallas in Major League Soccer, on loan from Marathón.

Career

Club

Chávez - who is nicknamed "el hijo del viento" (the son of the wind) - has spent the majority of his professional career playing in Honduras, for Victoria and currently with Marathón.

Chávez signed with FC Dallas of Major League Soccer on a loan deal in August 2009.[1] On November 21, 2010, he played 105 minutes in the MLS Cup 2011. Chávez was named to the MLS Team of Week 10 and 12 in the 2011 MLS season for his goal-scoring performances against Real Salt Lake and New England Revolution.[2][3] He gained Team of the Week honors again in Week 19 against Red Bull New York.[4]

International

Marvin made his debut for the Honduras national football team in 2006. Chávez was also part of the Honduras squad which took part in the 2009 CONCACAF Gold Cup.
