Starbow Airlines is an airline headquartered in Accra, Ghana, that operates domestic and regional flights out of its base at the cities' Kotoka International Airport.[1] It is the largest airline in Ghana in terms of fleet passenger capacity.

History

The company was founded in 2007 as Aero Surveys Ghana Limited and subsequently rebranded as Air Shuttle. It operated 1 Embraer 110 Bandeirante aircraft for domestic air taxi services. In 2011, it rebranded again as Starbow Airlines following a change in ownership. The company launched an advertizing and staff recruiting campaign in May 2011.[2] It received its second and third aircraft, 22 year old BAe 146-300s, in July and August of that year. [3]

Branding

The brand naming, Starbow logo and aircraft livery design is performed by the Dutch brand development and creative design company Lila Design Associates B.V. Starbow's identity design shows a colourful rainbow-like logo which reflects the three Ghanaian national colours. The star symbolizes the Polar Star which stands symbol in many African nations flags.
