Kasimasi ~Girl Meets Girl~ (かしまし ~ガール・ミーツ・ガール~) is a romance manga written by Satoru Akahori and illustrated by Yukimaru Katsura. The manga is currently still being published in Japan in the seinen manga magazine Dengeki Daioh. An anime series based on it started airing 12 January 2006 in Japan, with the tagline 「女の子になっても、僕は彼女が好きです」 ("Even though I became a girl, I love her still").

Plot

Template:Spoiler Hazumu, then-male and a highschool student, declares his love to Yasuna, a classmate, but is rejected. In shame, he climbs Mt. Kashimayama to find peace among his beloved plants. Little does he know that his excursion up the trail will lead to a number of changes, not the least of which being his physical sex, which takes place after his accidental and somewhat tragic first contact with a UFO. The plot often revolves around the way Hazumu's new female body changes or doesn't change his relationships with his friends and loved ones.

Throughout the manga and anime, a love triangle emerges between Yasuna (right), Tomari (left) and Hazumu (center), the male-turned-female. The drama between the three is often quite melodramatic.

Kasimasi is currently airing on TV Tokyo in Japan.

Characters

Hazumu Osaragi
The main character Hazumu was a boy, and always seemed to have a crush on his friend Yasuna. Aliens inadvertently change his physical sex at the end of the first episode. He has a personality that is very effusive, expressive and very sensitive. Because of this, he seems to fit well as a Japanese girl.
Yasuna Kamiizumi
Yasuna is a quiet and often lonely girl. Because her parents are rarely around, she seems to depend on Hazumu lot for love and support. She met him on Mt. Kashimayama, where she found that they shared an interest in gardening. However, Yasuna rejected Hazumu's first confession of love for her (as a boy). Yasuna displays symptoms of androphobia: She apparently sees most men as covered in a grey blur. This may be why she finds it easier to love Hazumu when he is a girl.
Tomari Kurusu
Hazumu's childhood friend. Her most obvious quality is that she is a tomboy: Her friends of both genders consider her very masculine. She shows a lot of interest in Hazumu and is horrified at first when he is transformed into a girl. Tomari has always put a lot of effort into supporting Hazumu and defending him whenever he is in despair. Though Hazumu has always been grateful for Tomari's support, at times Tomari seems jealous of Hazumu's sex change and new relationship with Yasuna.
Asuta Soro
Hazumu's best male buddy before the UFO crash. Asuta is a good deal more "manly" than Hazumu ever was, and was trying to find Hazumu to give him some hentai manga on the night of the Mt. Kashimayama incident. Asuta has found himself more and more attracted to Hazumu now that she's a girl, about which fact Hazumu is completely oblivious.
Sora Hitoshi
Sora Hitoshi is an cultural anthropologist and a space alien. His research brought him to visit Earth, and he is currently in disguise as the biology teacher at Hazumu's high school. His unfamiliarity with human ways provides the series with an outside perspective on love, the focus of Sora's research. Additionally, his views on other subjects (such as friendly competition or war) provide a somewhat existentialist point of view.
Tsuki Namiko
The homeroom teacher of Hazumu's class. She has an excessively cute style and is extremely clumsy. This gives rise to her being the butt of many jokes. She feels a strong love for Sora Hitoshi.
Jan Puu
An artificial intelligence employed by Sora Hitoshi, previously as the automatic pilot of his ship. Though Jan Puu is very enthusiastic about new people, she seems to have few social skills and often acts like a human child. Her human body is modeled after Hazumu's female body.
