Restaurants

Sadly, Patancheru even with a population of more than 50,000 doesn't has a single decent restaurant. The only known option is Anand Hotel (opposite to Police station) and its current state is worse than what it was 20 years ago. People living here drive to nearby Chandanagar to eat out. One reason no one is willing to start a new restaurant in Patancheru is because historically the locals always preferred to go to Chandanagar or to Hyderabad city interiors to dine, and it is extremely challenging for the local restaurants to survive due to this. This is partly based on previous experiences of International Hotel and Swagath Hotel in late 90s, which closed down after few years in Business.

Mairaz Hotel and Anand Hotel are well known restaurants in the town, more for their historical presence than delicacy.

Market

Patancheru holds local Farmers market every Thursday. Farmers from nearby Villages come here to sell their crop. Businesses are closed on Saturday.

Industries

Patancheru is the major Industrial hub of Andhra Pradesh.Major industries like asian paints are located in this area. It received major boost when Indira Gandhi served as the M.P of Medak constituency, when she started the Industrial park in Patancheru.

Due to Industrialization, Patancheru is badly affected with pollution, and getting the distinction of one of the worst polluted places in the world [1]
