Coal Mining Scam or Coalgate is a allegedly a corruption scandal in which Comptroller and Auditor General of India (CAG) office accuse the Government of India for providing the nation's coal deposits to private and state-run entities instead of publicly auctioning them off to the highest bidder, resulting 1,067,000 crore (US$130 billion) losses from 2004-2009. As of March 23, 2012 this Scam is neither been proven nor even investigated fully.[1][2] It is called by the media as Mother of all Scams.[3][4] At least three English news media reported this coal mining scam as Coalgate.[5][6][7]
