:No, the issue is misusing a WP article to promote something. Whether that something is a product, a charity, an author, a website, or a publication is quite a secondary issue. We don't seek to find a place on Wikipedia to put a mention of a source. We don't use source citations as a way to publicize those sources. We seek out the best available sources on the topic of the article and use those best sources. F1 vandal MO

Hi LeadSongDog. With regard to this edit, the vandal also targets F1 season summary articles, which reside in Category:Formula One seasons. (I wasn't sure whether it was appropriate for me to edit the abuse response report directly myself, since I'm not one of the people investigating it). Regards. Verifiability mediation - choosing the RfC structure

Hello LeadSongDog! You are cordially invited to a discussion at the verifiability mediation in which we will be deciding once and for all what combination of drafts and general questions we should have in the RfC. We would love to hear your input, so why not hop over and let us know your views when you next have the chance. Thanks! — Mr. Stradivarius (have a chat) 16:11, 4 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry to have done something called refspam, question

LeadSongDog-

Am I correct that the issue of refspam is not the article referenced, but the website on which that article sits? In that case I can site the article as long as it is on a neutral website (such as a professional organization or a journal website. Is that correct? Thanks for helping me learn this stuff. I was not intending to cause a problem and can certainly site the clinical trial results on websites not associated with products.
