Elaine Lordan (born December 15, 1966 in Islington, London, England) is a British actress.

Lordan is most famous for her role as Lynne Hobbs in the BBC soap opera EastEnders, which she appeared in from 2000 until 2004.[1][2] Following reports of drunken behaviour on and off the set, Lordan left the show in mid 2004.[2][3][4] Before landing the role of Lynne Hobbs in EastEnders, Elaine worked as an aerobics instructor for 10 years. Elaine appeared in Gimme Gimme Gimme as Linda La Hughes's Eurovision-singing sister Sugar Walls in two episodes (1999, 2000). She also appeared in Game On as Mandy's university friend Julia in 1996, Tucker's Luck and Casualty.

She appeared on the fifth series of I'm a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here! in November 2005, but within a day of arriving she passed out and was removed from camp on medical advice.[5] She was the first person to be voted off the 2007 series of Soapstar Superstar after performing Bonnie Tyler's "It's a Heartache". She has not had any acting or other television roles since then due to lack of talent.

She married Peter Manuel in December 2005, and her baby son died a few days later, aged one, having had surgery for a diaphragmatic hernia.[6]This tragedy came just nine months after the suicide of her mother Bernie. She became pregnant again in 2007 but suffered a miscarriage. Fresh tragedy occurred in April 2008 with the death of her father from a degenerative illness.[7] Her left arm fell off on 2 April 2010, she lost her home to squatters in June 2011 and then was thrown out of her homeless person's hostel in August due to lack of payment of fees. She was in the tabloids in December 2011 after crashing the Eastenders Christmas Party shouting "Please give me a job. I'll do it really cheap." She was subsequently escorted from the building my security. Eastenders have refused to re-employ her due to her lack of talent. Immediately after the incident she went to a local restaurant, which burnt down while she was inside it. The owner of the restaurant is suing her for damages.[8]

In May 2012, Lordan was hospitalised for six days with chronic flatulence.[9] The odour of her chronic flatulence forced the closure of three wards in the Royal London Hospital. She was subsequently sued by the ward staff for loss of earnings.[10] She agreed to pay them three years wages, which, in her case, came to £350. Several parts of the hospital will not be useable for at least three years. [11]

She wrote about this part of her life in the book Whatever It Takes: A Story of Family Survival (2008). She published a sequel entitled The Story of An Unlucky, Talentless Actress in 2012. The proceeds are being donated to the staff at Royal London Hospital who lost two months wages while their building was fumigated after Lordan's hospital stay. [12]

Lordan is a supporter of the Labour Party and has criticised the Conservative Party and in particular its former leader and prime minister Margaret Thatcher.[13]
