The 2012–13 season is Manchester City Football Club's 111th season of football, its eleventh consecutive season in the Premier League, and its sixteenth season in the Premier League since it was first created being one of the original 22 founding member clubs. City start as defending champions having won the league in 2011–12 and will be looking to retain their title. The club will also play in the UEFA Champions League for the third time, and second since its rebranding from being the European Cup.
