IgroMir is the first large-scale annual exhibition of computer and video games in Russia, organized by the committee of Russian Game Developers Conference. The Name IgroMir Russian: ИгроМир means Gaming World in russian.

History

2006

The exhibition was first times held at the 4 and 5 November 2006 in Moscow, 57 Pavilion All-Russia Exhibition Center, and, according to the organizers, gathered more than 25,000 People.[2] The exhibition was attended by about 45 companies, both domestic - 1C, Akella, Buca, Nival Interactive, Playnatic Entertainment, Soft Club, New Disc and foreign (including the Electronic Arts). The exhibition area was about 10,000 square meters, which was shown more than 100 games for different gaming platforms.

2007

In 2007 IgroMir was held in the same hall 57 VVC from 2 to 4 November. The exhibition area has increased from 9 to 13 thousand square meters. In the second year of its existence, "IgroMir" had about 45-50 thousand visitors, considering the exhibitors and the press (last gathered 400 people).[3]

The exhibition was attended domestic game companies, such as ShortScale, 1S, Akella "," Buca ", Nival Online, IT Territory, and a number of western publishers, including Electronic Arts, Microsoft,, Sony, Nintendo, Sega and others. Some games were shown to the public for the first time. Many were shown by developers, such as the president of Epic Games Mike Caps, producer of Ubisoft Jade Raymond and representatives of studio Bizarre Creations.

2008

In 2008 November 6 to 9 "Igromir" was held, in the same hall 57 VVC. Switched to a four-day exhibition format, the first day (called business day)[4] has been closed to public access: games were presented to people from the gaming industry and the press, which allowed the participants to present their products in a relaxed business setting. The remaining three days are open to the public. The total number of visitors exceeded 2007 results - 65 000.[3]

In IGROMIR 2008 was attended by more than 120 exhibitors, among which were the leading western companies producing games: Electronic Arts, Microsoft, Sony, Nintendo, Sega, Ubisoft, and the first time in the history of the show Blizzard Entertainment. The total exhibition area has increased from 12 to 14 thousand square meters. Besides exhibition was first published outside the pavilion 57 - with the opening of outdoor exposure.[5]

2009

In the 2009 exhibition took place again in Hall 57, from 5 to 8 November 2009. According to estimates of the organizers and the police department of the OCE, the exhibition was visited by 82,000 people.[6] In the fourth year of its existence, "IgroMir" attracted both domestic game companies (" 1C "," Akella "," Buca "," Nival Network ", Playnatic Entertainment, Snowball Studios and others), and Western - Microsoft, Sony Computer Entertainment, Blizzard Entertainment, Electronic Arts, Activision, Nintendo, Sega. Famous people visited the exhibition like actor Joe Kukan, who played Kane in the games series Command & Conquer, and Anatoly Wasserman.

2010

In 2010, the fifthanniversary IgroMir was held from 3 to 6 November in the 57th pavilion of VVC. General information partner of the exhibition is the social network Gamer.ru, and the Internet partner - Mail.ru. The exhibition was attended by more than 110 companies, and in that year IgroMir 2010 took almost the entire pavilion 57 - more than 13,000 sq.m. The business day of the exhibition IgroMir 2010 (November 3) in an event attended by more than 3,500 professionals, the Igromir exhibition highlighted more than 900 members of the press.[7][8][9][10][11]

The exhibition had show Battle of geymersh GAMER RING, a Tournament game for the Panzar: Forged by Chaos. Presentation Developers Deus EX: Human Revolution and Might & Magic: Heroes VI were shown by Ubisoft.[12][13][14][15][16][17]

2011

In 2011 the most important difference from previous IgroMira 2011 was that the first the exhibition changed the venue. The first time it was announced on the first day of IgroMira 2010 in at 5 November. The known game journalist Anton Loginov accidentally announced it from the stage. Excerpt speech in which he let out of the exhibition at the new location immediately appeared on the network.

In February 2011, the official website of the Crocus Expo exhibition catalog in 2011 appeared a brief description of the show. And in July 11, 2011 the sixth exhibition was officially announced.

IgroMir 2011 was held from 6 to 9 October in the exhibition center "Crocus Expo", in Hall 3, Hall 13. The total size of the exposure exceeded 16,000 sq.m. The exhibition attracted Microsoft, Sony Computer Entertainment, Nintendo, Electronic Arts, 1C-SoftKlab, Akella, Buka, Nival, Wargaming.net, Gaijin Entertainment, Panzar Studio, Blizzard Entertainment and others.

In addition, all guests of the show expecting a special entertainment program on the main stage of Igromir. On the first day (October 7) show on stage Noize MC, the second Yeah, and the third Tony Watkins and Underwood. As in the previous exhibitions October 6th the business day was held on that day, on the other three days were open to the public.[18][19][20][21][20]

2012

Igromir 2012 was held from 4 to 7 October in the exhibition center Crocus Expo again. After the Business Day the following days from October 5-7 and was open to all visitors. Family games for the first time was allotted in a separate room, as well as tournament final fights of Panzar: Forged by Chaos with prize money of one million rubles.[22]
